IT managers shake their heads in frustration declaring that one of the key barriers to gaining real business added value
from ICT rests upon the business units themselves. Business units demand their own ICT budgets, invest in developing
their own specific solutions and then singularly and spectacularly forget to ensure adequate business user awareness, buy-in and
basic training.....they then blame the ICT department for bad support. In this cartoon we see the frustrated IT specialist giving some hands-on
training to a senior business user of IT. (Chase Bank of Texas recognised this problem and decided it was time to
make senior executives IT literate. They launched a NERD program (Necessary Executive Reshaping Degree) a three month program in which business
