Power Rangers In College
Episode #1: Freshmen part 1.
As Ashley and Karone sat in the park one beautiful night of a full moon,
they began chatting about the vents that would occur the following day. They
had become good friends after the entire attack of the universe just before
the summer. "Anything?" asked Karone as Ashley flipped through a book. "Ah
ha! Introduction to the modern novel, a survey study of 20th century
novelists. Open to freshmen, you might like that!" said Ashley cheerily.
"Introduction to the modern novel? I'm guessing I'd probably have to read
the modern novel?" said Karone with a slight worry to her voice. "Maybe more
than one." Said Ashley with sadness to her voice. "I like books! A bit! I
mean, I never really got to read any, as I spent 13 years of my life being
the princess of darkness, but, would they have an introduction to the modern
blurb?" she said trying to make her laugh. Ashley looked down at the book
again. "Oh! Psyche! That's fun, you gotta take Psyche! You can use it as
your science requirement, Oh! And Professor Walsh is supposed to be great!
She's like world-renowned! " She said getting excited. "How do you get to be
`renowned'? Don't you have to be `nouned' first to be `renowned'?" asked
Karone confused. "No, it's…never mind!" began Ashley before trailing off.
She then continued: "Oh, Pop Culture, this is good! They watch movies, and
T.V shows, and even commercials for credit! Isn't College cool?" Karone
walked around a bit, and noticed that Ashley had the yellow and purple
morphers in her bag. Ashley noticed that: "It's just, you know, I think it's
good to be prepared, you know, just in case…" "Just in case what? All the
evils gone! There's zip left now!" said Karone as she sat down with Ashley
again. Neither noticed that behind them, a being that looked human, but had
a green face with blue needles sticking out of it and no hair, was crawling
right out of the ground! "Now we have a lot more time to think about life at
UC Angel Grove!" said Karone with a big smile. The monster snuck up behind
them, and was about to attack, when he noticed the morphers in Ashley's bag
too. His smile faded away, and he turned and ran! Neither of the Space Power
Rangers noticed anything!

The next morning at the University of California: Angel Grove, many new
freshmen walked around, but most were in groups or at least had one friend
with them! But not Karone, who stood around clutching her books to her
chest. She looked around. She hadn't seen this many people since she was a
young girl on KO-35. She felt totally bewildered, and the campus was so big!
She decided to go see if she could find any other of the rangers. As she
walked through the mass of people, suddenly a guy handed her a piece of
purple paper and said: "Pep rally tomorrow night! Let the organization know
how we feel!" Karone took the paper and said thanx. A girl from her other
side then handed her a blue piece of paper and said: "Have you accepted
Jesus Christ as your personal savior?" Karone took the piece of paper and
said: "You know, I mean to, but I just ran out of time!" A guy from the
other side with big smile handed her a yellow piece of paper and said:
"Coming to the rumpus night tomorrow? Free jello shots for freshmen women."
Karone took that one as well, and tried to ask him: "Do you know where Wise
Man Hall is?' but he just turned around not hearing her.  She continued on,
and eventually was very happy when she saw Ashley running towards her. "Boy,
am I glad to see you?" Karone said with a smile. "Isn't this cool? There's
so much going on! Have you met your new room mate yet?" Asked Ashley. "No!"
said Karone. This was all VERY new for her. Ashley held up similar pieces of
paper that Karone got before and said: "I've gotten 5 protest sheets, and
I'm angry about each, and every one of them!" Karone didn't know how to
answer, so she said: "Jello Shots!" A look of disappointment came over
Ashley. "I didn't get Jello Shots!" Karone, being a kind heart, and finding
no need for them, handed all of her sheets of paper to Ashley, who's face
lit up as this happened. "Do you have any idea where Wise Man Hall is? I
still need to pick up my I.D card." Explained Karone. "Oh, I got mine this
morning, the lines are RELLY long now, you should've been th…" she trailed
off and then yelled: "It's my boyfriend! My on-campus boyfriend!" Sure
enough, Karone's brother, Andros came walking up to them. Andros and Ashley
locked in a kiss, and Karone stood back and said: "Oh, I forgot to pick mine
up! The lines are probably really long now though!" Andros and Ashley
exchanged the "how are you, I haven't seen you in weeks sort of talk, even
though it was only the day before the last they had seen each other. Later,
Karone and Ashley walked through the halls, looking for the library, to
check it out. As they walked up the stairs to get there, they talked: "It's
too bad Alpha couldn't be librarian here! It'd be convenient!" said Karone
as though it was casual to have robots walking around the planet, like there
was on KO-35. "Well, call me crazy, but I think people might freak out just
a tiny little bit! Well, he's not a slacker now or anything, he's doing job
interviews for someone to be the mechanic on the Astro Megaship!" explained
Ashley. "Speaking of slack, is T.J back from his trip around the universe?"
asked Karone. "No news there yet, but he said he wasn't coming back until he
had been to every planet in all the galaxies." She explained. "Did you tell
him about the planets in the Lost Galaxy?" asked Karone. "Huh?" said Ashley,
who clearly didn't know what the Lost Galaxy was. "Never mind…Oh look,
here's the…library?" said Karone as she stared at the huge building, it was
bigger than any she had seen before, and she was quite amazed! "Isn't this
amazing?" asked Ashley, who was hyped about the library. "It's um…cozy?"
said Karone. She gulped, and the girls headed to the bookstore. Karone
carried around a few books, and Ashley brought over a basket to put them all
in. "Thanks!" said Karone, as she put her books in the basket. Ashley
pointed to the top shelf, and said: "The Introduction to Modern Psychology,
is up there!" "This store discriminates against short people!" said Karone
pretending to be angry, but only mucking around. "I think there's a debate
about it next week!" said Ashley, as Karone reached up to the top. Karone
tried to grab a book, but managed to knock all the copies off the shelf, and
onto a guy kneeling down reading a book just in front of them. "Ohh, sorry!
The books were too high, and then everything was bad and…" She trailed off,
as the guy stood up, and she realized who it was! "Zhane!" yelled Ashley.
"Oh, hey guys, are you taking intro psyche, or do you just want me dead?" he
asked trying to be funny. "Uh huh!…I mean the first one…" said Karone, very
nervous around him. When she was Astronema, she had fallen in love with him,
but didn't know how to approach her feelings now. "Well, you'll have a lot
of fun, professor Walsh, she's quite a character!" he said smiling. "You've
met her?" asked Ashley. "No, but I've read a lot about her, she's like in
every magazine! She's world…" he started, but was cut off by Karone who
finished his sentence: "renowned, we know." Soon, Zhane and Ashley were
talking technical stuff. Karone stood back and listened, not getting a darn
thing. Karone tried to join in: "You know, everyone's got a brain!" Zhane
led Ashley off to find a book, and Karone said under her breath: "Well,
almost everyone…" Karone paid for her books, and left to go to her new dorm,
and meet her roommate. Karone opened the door, and found a girl maybe
slightly older than her, unpacking her things from a suitcase, and
decorating her side of the room. "Hi!" said Karone. She looked up from what
she was packing, and said: "Oh hi! Are you Karone?" she asked sweetly.
Karone walked over to her side of the room, and put her new books on her
desk and said: "Yeah." "I'm Kathy, and it's really great meeting you!" she
said with a high pitched voice that could get on your nerves after awhile.
"You too." Said Karone calmly. "Are you excited for classes tomorrow?" asked
Kathy. "Painfully." Said Karone blankly. "I am REALLY glad they put me with
somebody cool. 'Cause I can tell that you're cool!" said Kathy even more
hyper than before. "And I can tell that this whole year's gonna be SUPER
FUN!" she said as she stuck up a poster of Celine Dion on the wall. *This is
like a nightmare! * Thought Karone. That night, Karone didn't get a moment
of sleep, due to Kathy's constant snoring.  The future was looking bleak for
Karone. The next morning, Karone took Pop Culture. "The purpouse of this
class is not to chratique Popular American Culture. Nor is it to look down
upon it. And it is not watching television for credit!" explained the
teacher. This was everything Karone hoped it wouldn't be.  Karone turned to
a girl next to her, and began to whisper. The teacher continued what he was
saying, and led it into: "…and there are 2 people talking! I know that one
is me, and the other is…a blonde girl!"  He said when he took a look at
Karone. Karone stared his way. "You, Blonde Girl, stand up!" he commanded.
Karone stood up, and the entire class turned to look at her. "I'm very
interested in hearing what you have to say, if it's worth interrupting my
lecture for!" he said firmly. "Well, I was just asking if the class was
still open, if I could still sign up." She explained. He picked up a
clipboard from his desk and said: "If your name, is not on this sheet, you
are wasting all of our time! Are you on the sheet?"  He asked, now with a
mean tone to his voice. "Well, they told me that if I just…" she began, but
was cut off by the teacher: "Do you understand? You are sucking energy out
of everyone in this room!" Karone was puzzled. Perhaps they did it
differently on Earth. "Get out!" He yelled at her. "I didn't mean to…suck."
She said as she pushed her way through the students. "LEAVE!" he yelled
again. Karone swung open the doors, and left.  Later that day, Karone went
to Psychology. She went up to a guy she'd never met, and asked him:
"Professor Walsh isn't planning at yelling at me, and kicking me out of the
class is she?" "It's not in the lesson plan." He said. Karone went and sat
with Ashley, Andros and Zhane, who had all decided to take the same course.
"What was Pop Culture like?" asked Andros. Karone answered him: "I decided
not to take it, because…it ah…seemed dull."  Then, she came in! "Okay, this
is Psyche 105, I am Professor Walsh! Those of you who fall into my good
graces will come to know me as Maggie. Those of you don't, will come to know
as the name my T.A's use and think I don't know about: The Evil Bitch
Monster of Death! Make no mistakes, I run a hard class, I assign a lot of
work, I talk fast, and I expect you to keep up! Those of you who can't, I
recommend Geology 101, that's where the Football players are!" * Oh, yes,
this whole year is going to be super fun! *Thought Karone sarcastically.
Later, that night, Karone was lost…again. She bumped into a guy, because she
was to busy dreaming about how life was much simpler when she was Astronema.
They apologized to each other, and then continued: "Loose your way?" asked
the guy. "Me, no, I'm just walking, and…yes, I'm lost." Admitted Karone.
"I'm Karone, by the way." She introduced herself. "Oh, hi, I'm Eddy." They
continued walking together, until they found where they were going:
Fisherman Hall, where both there dorms were. Trying to make a conversation
before they parted, she said: "Do you have a security Blanket?" "Oh yeah, I
have a book called `Of Human Bondage', I've read it like 4 times, and I keep
it by my bed." He explained.  "Cool, well, I'll see you tomorrow, probably!"
she said as went in. Eddy was about to follow, when he suddenly felt a hand
cover his mouth so he couldn't scream. The same monster that had risen out
of the ground earlier that week, was behind it. Eddy was shocked when he
found several monsters surrounded him. But there was a woman who stood out.
She wasn't a monster. She wore a red top, and black Lycra pants. He hair was
weird style, kinda like the style Astronema had it in the first time she had
it black. But this woman's hair was blonde. "I'm sorry, did you loose your
way?" she asked, almost kindly. But she definataly wasn't kind! She was pure
evil!
