Charisma was born on July 23rd 1970 in Las Vegas. She started training in dance when she was 5 years old and was entertaining hotel guests in Las Vegas by age 9. She also took part in local beauty pagents. Charisma admits that she was constantly in trouble when she was growing up - getting bad grades at school and sneaking out of the house. The family moved to Rosarito City, Mexico when she was 15 years old and later moved to Bonita, California, where she attended Bonita High School.

When a boyfriend moved to Los Angeles, she decided to go and visit him. She got herself a job waitressing at the Mirabelle restaurant, and was introduced to a theatrical agent. She attended classes at Playhouse West acting school, and found herself a new agent. She did numerous major commercials and a lot of theatre work.Then she landed a bit part in an episode of Baywatch which led to her role in the TV show Malibu Shores. While she was still working on the show, she went to audition for a role in the pilot episode of Buffy The Vampire Slayer. The producers of the show gave her the part of Cordelia Chase. Charisma is currently starring in the Buffy spin-off show, Angel.
