Airwolf

From: Acclaim
Year: 1988
Format: NES

You're called back into action (left) and this is the 'action' you were
called back into (right)
Comments:
Dreadful game based on the movie/TV series. Looks and plays like the ancient Master System game F-16. You fly the supped up helicopter over a constant flat, green landscape shooting down those pesky middle eastern terrorists. Real rubbish!
Other versions of Airwolf:
Format: Sega Megadrive/Genesis
From: Kyugo Trading
Year: 1991
Comments: Renamed Cross Fire in the US. You fly the Airwolf helicopter in the usual top down shoot-em-up fare. You do the level once then go in close and try to take out as many foot soldiers as you can to make it easier when you go in on foot. Quite good but the graphics are a bit old.
Format: Amstrad CPC
From: Elite
Year: 1985
Comments: You control the Airwolf helicopter around a maze of rooms shooting out walls and collecting things. I knew people who liked this years ago but now it's pretty shabby.
Format: Commodore 64
From: Elite
Year: 1985
Comments: Same as the Amstrad version but with improved graphics.
Format: Spectrum 48K
From: Elite
Year: 1985
Comments: Similar to the other two versions. Worse graphics too.

Airwolf II

From: Hit Pack
Year: 1987
Format: Amstrad CPC
Comments:
This time the game is a scrolling shoot-em-up similar to the classic nemesis. The locations in this version are a bit strange. The first level takes place in space with the Airwolf up against aliens and flying balls! Better than the first game.
Other versions of Airwolf II:
Format: Commodore 64
From: Hit Pack
Year: 1986
Comments: Similar version to the Amstrad one but with different layout and level design.
Format: Spectrum 48K
From: Hit Pack
Year: 1987
Comments: Same as the other versions.
