Levels 1-4 and the result of taking too many bullets (far right)
Comments:
You play Axel Foley through the following situations based (mainly loosely) around the film's plot:
Level
1: This one takes place in a warehouse. You control Axel as he shoots his way
through the enemies.
Level
2: A driving section. I think you were supposed to be chasing the truck from the start of
the film. It's Out run (viewed from behind the car) style.
Level 3:
Here you have to storm Maitland's mansion. Axel moves through the gardens (including a
hedge maze with nudey lady statues which were quite racy for it's time) on his way to the
house. It also features a small amount of blood which fountains from the enemies when you
shoot them. This was one of the few levels I could actually do as a kid.
Level 4:
Finally you search around Maitland's mansion for the man himself. This is done in first
person perspective and when one of Maitland's army of security guards appears he can be
felled by moving the sight over him and firing.
You can choose to practise the levels individually or play them in order. An enjoyable game but due to the differing styles the levels varying in difficulty.

Comments: The same as the other computer versions. Great music and nice graphics which are the better than all the other versions (identical to the ST version). You can't practice the levels though.
Format: IBM PC

Year: 1990
Comments: The same as the Amstrad version but with a jokey movie-style intro and, on the whole, improved graphics. The exception being the final stage which is recreated here in horrible vector graphics with the guards represented as diamond shapes with squares attached! All the music and sound is PC speaker only.

Comments: The same as the other computer versions but with real nasty colour graphics.
Format: Commodore 64

Year: 1990
Comments: The same as the other computer versions except it contains two driving sections. The original one is viewed at an isometric angle and the new one, which makes up level three, is viewed from above with you shooting out vans. The graphics and sound aren't that good for a Commodore game.

Comments: Only has the driving section. Definitely the worst graphics of all.
