Mary Shelly's Frankenstein

From: Sony Imagesoft

Year: 1994

Format: Super Nintendo

Frankie awakes, gets poked in the bits by a peasant and then sets a man's hat on fire

Comments:

Based on the Kenneth Branagh movie. You play Frankenstein's monster as he tries to escape the persecution of the nasty peasants. You do this by jumping around platforms and hitting them with your stick (which you can set light to). The sprites are a bit small and lack detail and the backgrounds are gloomy, which may be in keeping with the tone of the film but makes the game look very boring. There is also a puzzle element to it. You have to pull on ropes to opens doors etc. It's not a bad game but not one which will keep you coming back for more. There is also a password continue system.

Other versions of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein:

Format: Sega CD

From: Sony Imagesoft

Year: 1994?

Comments: Probably the same as the SNES version but with different music and clips from the film. I have only seen this one as a double pack with Sony's other Sega CD movie game Bram Stoker's Dracula. Only released in the USA.
