Comments:

This one follows the teen butchering story a lot closer than the A Nightmare On Elm Street game but still not that closely. You control six children unfortunate enough to be spending summer at Camp Crystal Lake. Each has their own strengths and weaknesses such as faster walking or higher jumping. It is your job to complete each of the tasks given to you (such as lighting all the fire places in the large huts) while at the same time preventing Jason from killing all the children. You can do this by getting better weapons (you start with a rock) by killing the zombies that appear at night. It doesn't have that much to do with the films and it is also rather long and difficult but it's strangely addictive.

Comments: Different to the NES version. It is up to the five counselors at Camp Crystal Lake to stop Jason before he kills all the kids staying in their care. You do this by first finding a weapon (garden rake, knife etc) and then finding Jason himself before all the children are murdered. The story is very much like the plot (what there was of one) from the early (parts 2-4) films and some of the areas you explore are taken from the films too. Quite good but bad graphics.

Comments: Same as the Commodore version.

Format: Atari 2600

From: Sega

Year: Planned but Cancelled

Comments: Sega planned to make a video game based on the popular horror movie but it was never made. The decision to cancel the project could have been due to the public outcry against other horror movie based games that had already been released on the 2600.
