Gremlins

From: Atari
Year: 1984
Format: Atari 2600
Comments:
A two part action game based on Joe Dante's famous monster movie. In the first part you must stop the furry ones getting to the burgers and becoming Gremlins. The second part is a pac man rip-off. You have to shoot the on coming hordes of gremlins. If you manage this then it is back to the first part. Alright for it's time and better than the other versions. Speaking of which...
Other versions of Gremlins:
Format: Gameboy Advance
Title: Gremlins: Gizmo Vs Stripe
From: ??
Year: 2002
Comments: Some sort of platformer. More soon.
Format: Spectrum 48K
From: Adventure International
Year: 1983
Comments: A rather poor 'graphical text adventure'. You have a picture at the top of the screen (some times animated) and a short description of the scene. To do anything you must type it in such as "Go west" to go west. It's here that the game is let down. The amount of words that it recognises could be written on the back of a stamp. So actually doing what you want becomes very difficult but if you do get anywhere you can save your progress onto a tape. No fun at all.

Comments: In this game you must attempt to herd the Gizmos into the safe pen and away from the water and food. The nasty Gremlins will try to kill you or free the safe Gizmos and the only thing you have to protect yourself with is a sword. As the levels go on more water and food and Gremlins appear but you also get TVs to distract the enemy. Not bad but a bit primitive.
