Peter Pan and friends having a brawl!
Comments:
A Final Fight style scrolling beat-em-up vagley based on the movie. Up to four people can play at once and you get a choice of characters; Peter Pan, Rufio, Ace, Pockets and Thudbutt. Each has their own characteristics. Once you have chosen your fighter you wade through the pirates, beating them all into submission. Not only are there several usable weapons but you can also interact with the scenery, cutting ropes to drop anchors on the enemies or knock over pots of boiling water onto them etc. Even these features, which seem to vanish later in the game, can't stop this game getting monotonous and repetitive. The graphics are rather ugly and the music and sound is nothing special. Probably fun on it's release but now it's simply average.
Other versions of Hook:
Format: Amiga

Year: 1991
Comments: A 'Monkey Island' style point-and-click adventure. There's a nice animated intro that features great music and sound. The game itself has you in control of Peter Pan as he arrives in Never Never Land on his search for Captain Hook. You move around by click the scenery and interact with people/items/your surroundings by using the icons on the bottom of the screen. Nice graphics, good animation and quite a challenge. Worth trying.

Comments: A colourful and well animated platform beat-em-up based closely on the film. The enjoyable platform sections are broken up by long dull story sequences. Same as the Megadrive/CD versions.
