The Hunt For Red October

From: Hi-tech Expressions
Year: 1990
Format: NES

The basic plot, not that it matters (far left) some underwater action
and then death (far right)
Comments:
From intelligent Tom Clancy book to intelligent John (Die Hard) Mctiernan movie to brainless under water shoot-em-up from Beam (Mad Max) Soft and Hi-tech (Beethoven's Second) Expressions. But this is by no means a bad game. It is actually quite good fun diving into and out of the water avoiding traps while blasting baddies.
Other versions of The Hunt For Red October:
Format: SNES
From: Hi-tech Expressions
Year: 1990
Comments: From the makers of the Beethoven's 2nd game. An underwater shoot-em-up similar to the NES one. A little too similar. By that I mean the graphics are pretty dull and the music is down right tacky both in a very 8-bit way. Not terrible but by no means great.
Format: Gameboy
From: Hi-tech Expressions
Year: 1991
Comments: Yet another underwater shoot-em-up. You must navigate the Red October through hostile waters without getting blown up. This is easier said than done but you do get some extra weapons to help you out. Not a great game but worth a quick go.
Format: Spectrum 48K
From: Grandslam
Year: 1990
Comment: This game is actually based on the book 'Hunt For Red October' and not the film but when the film was made Grandslam changed the title screen and sold it as a movie game.
