Jackie attacking various things
Comments:
An enjoyable platform romp more staring Jackie Chan than based on him, his life or any of his films (although the ending features supposed out-takes from the game which is a nice touch). Jackie must transverse many hostile locations in order to rescue his (fictional) sister from an evil magician. He has many special attacks at his disposal (which makes up for his lack of normal attacks) such as a Street Fighter style fire ball and spinning kicks. Additional attacks can be collected or recharged. The main sprite bears some resemblance to the Chinese superstar and the music is quite catchy. Worth a look.
Other games based on Jackie Chan:
Name: Jackie Chan's Action Kung Fu
Format: NES
From: Hudson Soft
Year: 1990
Comments: An 8-bit conversion of the PC-Engine version. This time the main sprite looks more like Mario than Jackie and some of the levels are a bit re-designed but the music is still there and it is just as fun (maybe more so) than it's 16-bit counterpart. Also released in the USA & UK.
Format: Sony Playstation
Title: Jackie Chan's Stunt Masters
From: Radical Entertainment
Year: 2000

Comments: Originally rumoured to be a puzzle game with Jackie searching a vast film set collecting peices of his lost film. Thankfully it now takes the form of a 3D roaming fighting game. Has received mixed reviews.
Title: Jackie Chan Fire Fists
Format: Arcade
From: Kaneko
Year: 1995

Comments: More when I get it.
