Indiana Jones And The Last Crusade

From: Taito
Year: 1990
Format: NES

Several different screens showing the various different sections of the game
Comments:
There are two elements to this. One is a side scrolling platformer and the other is a top down bike riding one. There are also clever little tweaks to the former such as the battle on top of a moving tank and the fight on a boat that is being tossed, wildly, by the sea. To make this more than a simple platform beat-em-up you are given choices of where to go next. It all fits together well and is all over quite good. It sticks closely to the movie's plot too.
Other versions of Indiana Jones And The Last Crusade:
Format: Super Nintendo
From: Factor 5
Year: 1994
Comments: A platform action game based on all three of the Indiana Jones films. Nice easy controls and good quality graphics, sound and presentation make this worth playing. Passwords are available so you can continue from the point you left off which is useful in a game this big.
Format: Megadrive/Genesis
From: US Gold
Year: 1992
Comments: A platform game based on the third Indiana Jones movie. The graphics and sound aren't that great and the gameplay is nothing new.
Format: Sega Master System
From: US Gold
Year: 1990
Comments: Pretty much the same as the computer versions with slight graphical changes made that were only possible for a console version.
Format: Amstrad CPC
From: US Gold
Year: 1989
Comments: A simple platform beat-em-up based around events from the film including the caverns, Circus Train, Cathedral, Air Ship and Crusaders Tomb. There is a nice touch with the amount of light decreasing as the torches burn out but the graphics are pretty poor by Amstrad standards (in fact they are identical to the technically inferior Spectrum version).
Format: Spectrum 48K
From: US Gold
Year: 1989
Comments: Same as the other computer versions (and same graphics as the CPC version).
Format: Commodore 64
From: US Gold
Year: 1989
Comments: Same as the other computer versions.
Format: Nintendo Gameboy
From: Ubi Soft
Year: 1993
Comments: Same as the computer versions but in minature. And black and white.
Format: NES
From: Ubi Soft
Year: 1993
Comments: The exact same as the computer versions with the same graphics as the Gameboy game.
