Rocky Vs: Apollo Creed, Clubber Lang, Ivan Drago & Mickey's punching mitts

Comments:

A boxing simulator based the first four films (the game was made two years before Rocky V). Relive all the climatic battles of the Rocky movies yourself as you must beat Apollo Creed, Clubber Lang, and finally the Siberian Express himself Ivan Drago. Just like the films before each fight Rocky needs to train in order to become strong enough to defeat the opponent. The attention to detail is quite good with Rocky's shorts changing design according to which opponent you face. It's quite easy up until Drago who, like in the film, is nigh on invincible. Quite enjoyable.

Other versions of Rocky:

Format: X Box

From: Rage

Year: 2002

Comments: An excellent boxing game based on all five of the Rocky films. You can play movie mode which plays through the movies with you playing the respective Rocky for that film as he battles his way through the small fights until he gets to challenge the 'boss' character of that movie. In between fights you get to train in two areas of your choice. Each different training style improves one of Rocky's attributes. There are also 2-16 player knockout and tournament modes were you can select any one of the Rocky characters that you have unlocked. There's all the music and voices of the film series and the attention to detail is impressive. Well worth buying!

Title: Rocky Battles The Champ

From: Colleco

Year: 1983

Comments: Based on Rocky III (you know, the one with Mr T). A one or two player game, one playing Rocky the other playing Clubber Lang. The game is a 'Super Action Boxing' game which means it used the special 'Super Action' controller only released for the Coleco. There are a range of options such as skill level etc and then it's on to smacking the hell out of Mr T. The graphics are good and the sound is quite effective and there are some nice renditions of 'Gonna Fly Now' too.
