Wayne's World

From: THQ
Year: 1992
Format: Super Nintendo

Some pictures of a strange concept for a game
Comments:
Not so much based on the film as the characters. Wayne and Garth have been sucked into a video game and Garth has been kidnapped. As Wayne you must find him. Relies heavily on audio samples from the film. The intro consists of digitized stills. The actual game has you killing evil bagpipe monsters with notes from your guitar. Do you need me to tell you it's not very good?
Other versions of Wayne's World:
Format: Sega Megadrive/Genesis
From: THQ
Year: 1992
Comments: Exactly the same as the SNES game. Which is a shame.
Format: Nintendo Gameboy
From: THQ
Year: 1993
Comments: As with the SNES games this has nothing to do with the film. Unfortunately unlike the aforementioned game this one doesn't explain the wierd plot. It starts with Wayne and Garth doing the show then Garth walks of into a world full of evil drums and symbols. He can kill them with a gun and if he survives the two continue the show until Wayne walks of into a world of monster saxophones. Really strange and not much good.
Format: NES
From: THQ
Year: 1993
Comments: Almost exactly the same as the Gameboy version but with two noticeable differences 1) it's in colour and 2) hardly any story screens. Whereas the GB version showed Wayne and Garth doing the show between rounds this NES one just has the two (drawn in green) and a bit of writing which is largely unconnected to the plot of the game. The music and sound is pretty standard stuff but why are Wayne and Garth being attack by possessed musical instruments??? We may never know...
