ADVANTAGES: The advantages to the raider squad are that they are very fast moving, being able to move a possible 24" each turn. They also have the added advantage of a dark lance which can fire even if the raider moved up to 12". They are also slightly more survivable 1 on 1 with a standard warrior due to the extra protection provided by the raider.
DISADVANTAGES: The disadvantages of the raider squad are that they are limited to 10 man squads with only 1 heavy weapon and 1 assault weapon. They are also very prone to heavy fire as the raider is very easily killed.
Raider squads are best deployed as a screen for your more important raiders (archon, wyches). If they survive long enough, they should make light work of lightly armoured opponents if they are upgraded to have a shredder and splinter cannon.
