It's estimated people dream, about six times every night,

But I don't really know, if that is wrong or right.

The oldest dreams recorded, are in the Brit's Museum,

Written on papyrus, where you can go an see 'em.

They are from the Egyptian dynasty, about 2000 years B.C

Now they're kept safe under glass, for you and I to see.

Early man believed, that God sent them dreams to show,

Revelations, in their sleep, that he wanted them to know.

In Homer's Iliad, Achilles said, Zeus sends dreams to men,

Even in the Bible, God says, through dreams I'll speak to them.

Joseph the son of Jacob, was the interpreter, of a dream,

He told some of the Pharaohs, what their visions mean.

He told them of the good times, and foretold them of the bad,

Joseph also told of when the people would be sad.

Sigmund Freud implied dreams were, drives that are repressed,

and emotional conflicts surface though dreams he did suggest.

But me when I am sleepy, I just want to drift away,

I want to wake refreshed, to face another new day.
