Horrified and scared, Sharon turned to Tom hoping he had
some idea that would save them.  All thoughts of help fled
in an instant as she beheld his form which seemed to change,
growing larger with the teeth becoming huge razor sharp
instruments of terror and destruction.  Tom's body too became
larger and menacing, with huge thorns protruding from it and the
eyes glowed red as if fires blazed just below the body surface. 
He stood upright on his hind legs looking down at her as the 
terrible lightning again crashed nearby with deafening sound.
