Beyond The Sea Of Ice
[book written by William Sarabande]
[Review written by Hermia001]
Umak, the spirit master, believing that he is old and useless,
leaves the encampment so that his spirit can "walk with the wind".
But his will is challenged by a young wolf, who developes a strong
and unusual bond with the spirit master. Together, they find
Umak's grandson, Torka - the sole survivor of a three man hunting
party that had been decimated by "The Destroyer", a giant mammoth.
Carrying Torka on his back, Umak heads back to the camp to warn
his people of the impending arrival of The Destroyer.
Upon entering the camp, Umak realizes he is too late. The entire
camp had been destroyed except for one young woman named Lonit.
"In new times men must find new ways."
With the words of his grandfather running through his mind,
Torka leads his "band". If they are to survive, he will have
to first conquer his grief and anger over losing his family.
In the tradition of Jean M. Auel, William Saraband creates
a gripping saga of The First Americans. The first of five books,
Beyond The Sea Of Ice tells of their struggle for survival and
the rebirth of their people. Other books in the series are:
Volume II : CORRIDOR OF STORMS
Volume III : FORBIDDEN LAND
Volume IV : WALKERS OF THE WIND
Volume V : THE SACRED STONES
Enjoy!
