for event times and dates. These times may change as we are
still learning which times are the best for each event.

Please email me with any ideas you have for club activities and
let me know if you would be willing to host such an event.
Please describe the event in detail and especially the rules involved.
Also include your club ID when emailing me so I know who is making
the suggestion.

Please contact me before adding new club events to the club calendar.
Although you should feel free to post your anniversary and such.

CLUB HISTORY and INFORMATION :

This club was formed in March 30, 1999. We have quite a few gifted
writers, poets and artists as well as good trivia players.

Most of the members of this club were regular members of a
pet owners room in regular yahoo chat -known as "Cat chat" but
as time went on it seemed that there were many bad types of people
who came into the chatrooms to harass and scare people.

Since we had no way to boot the bad types they pretty much ran off
the new good folks that stopped by to visit and people were afraid to let
their teens chat also because of the nasty ones.

Many of us moved up to the yahoo clubs which provide a safer
environment because the founder can delete anyones membership
who behaves poorly enough to warrant such action.

In time that first large club split off into other clubs as we explored
the whole idea of using clubs for those who share specialized
interests, such as dog owners or poetry, or fiction writers etc.

This club is not a specialty club other than that it is G-rated,
meaning no cussing, no cyber sex - -in short - nothing you wouldn't
see in a disney movie is allowed here.

Club Rules :
Other than rules governing events this club has only 4 rules -
and those can be boiled down into 2 statements :
1. This is a G-rated club so behave accordingly.
2. The message boards are not to be used for complaints
or reprimands by club members.
These can be handled by emailing me and I will take swift action but
I will be as fair as possible.

If members post complaints on the boards about someone's post then
it puts me in the position of being unfair if I let the members who posted
such complaints[thereby breaking club rules] go free but reprimand
or delete the person who posted the offending post in the first place.

I can be emailed through the "founders" link on the clubs homepage
or by emailing to docwho3@yahoo.com

I have seen Clubs destroyed by messageboard wars so
let's not allow that here.

Please do not post messages asking for adults to email you as
in a romance club. There are clubs specifically for that purpose.

I do my absolute best to enforce these rules for the sake of the
club members.

THE NAVIGATION BAR
ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE CLUBS HOME PAGE :

There is a club photo album which is also only for G-rated pictures.
Sorry to keep repeating the "G-rated" thing but it is important
that this club be a place where people can let their children read over
their shoulder as they take part in club activities and also people
went to clubs partly to escape the nastiness from regular chat so I try to
keep this club being a nice, warm, friendly, and basically clean place.

I have heard that yahoo has recently upgraded the amount of storage
space for the photo album to about 15 MB so we should have enough
photo room for awhile. I have not confirmed this yet for myself but have
seen some posts about it in other clubs.

I can also put club pics up in another photo album which I registered for us
at picturetrails.com The web adress for the picture trail album is
http://www.PictureTrail.com/docwho3/104113
The Picture trails Album is password protected so you will need to email
me for the password before trying to view it.

Also there is 80 MB of storage space at the Excite version of Club Crackerbox

There is a club calendar for you to post your birthday and/or other
happy personal event that you want the whole club to know about.
Please do not make up and schedule events for the whole club though
without asking me first as I am responsible for club content.

Clicking on an event in the calendar will bring up a short bit of information
about the event if any is available.

There is a club message board for posting announcements or messages
[not complaints] to fellow club members. Over the past year many clubs have
dropped most use of the club chatrooms in favor of using the club messageboards
as a way to keep in touch so please feel free to post a note every now and then
to let us all know how you are doing and what is currently going on in your life.

There is a links section to post links to other club sites and also
helpful sites such as those that give away freeware or shareware
programs that our members might find useful.

I have revamped the links section by moving all the visit links
to a webpage and providing one link to that webpage.

I also moved the resource links to one webpage [places for freeware
and info to aid our members.] To add a link to one of the pages simply
follow the instructions at the bottom of either of the two links pages.

These links are checked out to be sure they ARE suitable for family viewing
and I will delete any that are not and may delete the member that posted
a pornographic or other badly inappropriate link in the links section trying to
bypass having to submit their link to me by email.

I am not looking for an excuse to boot people [I have only had to boot
2 people so far] but I am careful to preserve the haven made here.
If a link is only borderline poor I will speak to the person who posted
it rather than delete the member right away.

There is a club news section for members to keep uptodate on the
latest news headlines etc.

Note :
If you click the link [under the club pic] to the founders personal
home page you will be taken to the club's News Gazette.
This is the club's newspaper with articles of interest submitted
by club members and a few non members.

There is a Members section which is a membership list so you
can see who else is a member.

You probably already know of the club's chat link on the navigation bar
that takes you into the chat room part of the club.
This area is not often used except during events but all members are
welcome to use the club's chat area to just chat at any time when
an event is not ongoing. Events don't usually last more than an hour.

Also there is a place [if you scroll the club's nav bar a bit] to place
invitations to others whom you feel would make good members.

In the invite section you do not need to know the persons email address
but only their yahoo ID and yahoo will do the rest - if they have
a free yahoo account.

The help section on the navbar takes you to a
help place of info about clubs and even regular chat help too.

What you may not know is that at the very top of the nav bar
-where it says "YAHOO CLUBS" - - if you click there it will take
you to the clubs list and all the clubs categories in yahoo are
listed there and the ones you are already a member of will show
on the left side of your screen so you can click on them and go there
right away if you wish.

If you need more info let me know.
