NEW RULES CHANGES ABOUT EVENTS :
If less than 4 people show up or if they
don't show up within 15 minutes after game time
the game may be canceled for that week
[at the hosts discretion].
If the game is canceled the host
will post a notice saying so before leaving.
Activity Rules for Crackerbox :
Some events will be held only every other week.
The activity : Round Robin Story writing :
[currently suspended]
Check the club calendar for current
dates and times. It was Saturday.
Ground rules :
How strictly this is enforced is mostly up to the host :
1. Round Robin Story writing is where we each
take turns writing a line of a story.
Your line may be anything that fits onto the line
written before it but can totally change the direction
of the story if you wish.
Example :
Dr_who3 : The man pointed the gun at the cute
rabbit and squeezed the trigger.
Ghostmouse : causing flowers to fly out of the gun
and rain down upon all tickling their noses and waking
the princess from her long sleep.
Please, lets not have any blood and gore lines or any
lines about rape or other sexually explicit scenes.
Saying a fight took place or someone was shot or stabbed
is ok but lets not over do it by making it happen so often
that it is merely gratuitous violence and lets not describe
how the blood spurted etc.
This IS a G-rated club and there may be children present.
2. We will take turns in order of the chatters box listing
in the room at the time although our story time leader
may choose who starts and we will start from that
position on the list and go downwards on the list
from there.
3. If you don't know what to type when it is your turn
simply type " pass " and we will go on to the next person.
4. Please be patient when waiting for someone
to type their line as many of us are slow to type things.
If you are concerned the person may have left the
keyboard simply PM story leader and ask about
the status of the person and he can check on the person
once and then answer all PMs in open chat just once
so that person can continue typing their line without
stopping to answer 40 PMs from the rest of us.
Do not type things to that person in open chat screen
to get them to hurry up or to remind them it is their turn
as Story leader can take care of those things by PM
and it causes the person whose turn it is to have
to stop typing their line to answer
and it breaks up the story as the last storyline
goes scrolling up the screen and out of sight.
This too is up to the host to enforce or not.
5. We sometimes limit line length to a certain
number of words to make it more challenging.
Story_leader or the host will decide this.
There is no changing this once it is set till
the story is finished so if you don't like the
number limit just announce "out" at your
turn and you can watch till the current story is
completed and maybe the next one will
have limits set that you like better.
6. Story leader
is undisputed leader of story time
and is not to be argued with
concerning his/her decisions.
If you have a request about story line length
or other suggestion, you may make it ONCE
only [and if a story is in progress do it by PM].
7. Discipline :
I leave the enforcement of these rules
or lack thereof pretty much up to
the host of each event.
Story leader can ask you to leave
the club chat room if you break the rules.
If you are asked to leave do so right away
and without arguing or you will be deleted
from the club. Sorry to be so harsh about
this but story leader is too busy during a
story time to stop and deal with some ones
problems.
You may always come back an hour later
and [without interrupting an ongoing story]
try to work out the problem with
story leader by PM or email to me.
As much as I love all my friends I will
not override story leaders decisions
[or monitor_ducks either] concerning
deleting someone from the club.
Although on some rare occasions we
may elect to give a repentant member
a 2nd chance. There will be NO 3rd
chances.
Both monitor duck and story time leader
and all the event hosts
take care not to be unduly picky
and I must trust them to work effectively.
