It's Just a Grain of Salt
[by Dr.Who3]
Its just a grain of salt
that glistens in this tear,
a single cry reflecting light
that only hearts can hear.
What heralds wrong so clearly
and shows forth hurt and fault?
What magic moves us, one and all?
It's just a grain of salt.
A treasure
from my heart's own vault;
a drop of things
that might have been
and no recourse for one so dear.
What value has this single tear?
Its just a grain of salt.
Although a drop
falls from the sky
a tear is never born
until it dwells within the eye
and from the heart is torn.
What is this mighty element
that through no will or fault
doth rule in spite of all intent?
It's just a grain of salt.
Sadness leaks from broken hearts
which wishes could not halt.
So what doth glisten in this tear?
It's just a grain of salt.
