This mini album was the first release on the Deceptive
label and saw the debut of idlewild's logo. Produced by Paul Tipler, the
album was recorded from 1st to 7th October 1997 at River Studios,
London. The CD was grey with silver writing.
The cover image is actually a picture of Roddy's friend
Emma staring through a window with 'CAPTAIN' written backwards across it.
3,000 copies were pressed originally but it's sold far more now.

Extra Info:
Featuring the now defunct bass player Phil Scanlon. The
girl on the cover is Roddy's sister Kirsty. Very rare, un surprisingly
because only 1000 copies were pressed. Recorded originally in October 1996
but we all know what record companies are like. Roddy has a stash of 30
copies which he might keep, you can tell he is keeping them for beer money,
you can just imagine him going out to the pub with enough for a pint and
a copy of this single to flog, which will probably keep him drinking until
the next week.

Extra Info:
The song came out of a conversations with a friend and
are taken from actual words they said, I wonder if they can sue for copyright
ehehe. This includes a piano version of the Fierce Panda release 'Chandelier'.
7" vinyl includes a picture of a burnt out care on the inside. Palace Flophouse
is a cover of the obscure Glasgow band 'Peeps Into Fairyland' who they
toured with in October '98. There are 2 piano tracks on the singles, this
was because they only had a day to record the B-sides before the ULU in
November, and Rod broke the amp. So Rod say the piano in the studio and
it developed from there. The track dates in the track (1903-1970) refer
to the dates painter Mark Rothko was born and died, they are lines in the
song which refer to him, although Roddy says ' but it's not really about
him. We has to come up with all these B-sides in one day!'.
