(L-R) Bob, Colin, Rob & Roddy |
Roddy
Woomble... is the vocal cords of the band, to say he
is the driver in the bands metaphorical car wouldn't be a lie.
He named the band after a forest from his favorite book, and was a
film student at uni., of the arty farty variety, well he writes the lyrics
and even take pictures for the album and single covers. He worked in a
kitchen in various places, and as I've found they are a good place to think,
because otherwise you'd go insane. He has a lot of musical influences from
R.E.M to Iggy Pop, he doesn't have an uncle Bulgaria and ain't a big fan
of animals

Rob
Jones... is the guitarist of the band, his influences
include Sonic Youth, Royal Trux and is a follower of metal music. Once
worked in dodgy chain chip shop, Harry Ramsdens. I'm guessing he worked
in the one on Leith Walk, it's got crap choice although the haggis bites
are no bad. He decided he wanted to be in a band when he saw sugar when
he was a little boy. Onstage, he and Bob go quite mental, hitting stuff
generally.

Colin
Newton... is the drummer, influences include local legend
'Dominic Parker' and he was happy when they did a gig in Janurary '97 with
him, and he remembers it to this day. In a recent interview it can be seen
he is a joker, when posed the question 'What is the wierdest thing that's
happened at an Idlewild gig?' to which he answered 'Discovering I was playing
in time with the band'. In his working life he's been a Pizza chef and
a Tesco shelf stacker. He likes water and swimming

Bob
Fairfoull... is the bassist in the band, generally seen
as the drunken mad one who knows nothing else but being in a band. He doesn't
like many things but London is a pet hate of his. Allegidally went out
with Sophie from 'The Audience'. His Musical influences are varied from
Nirvana to Girls Vs Boys. He sees himself bringing stupidity and bad jokes
to the band.
