interview

The Reacharounds were formed around one year ago from the remnants of a defunct college band, 189 Lorna's, after the guitarist almost did his head in attempting a solo carrer in techno, with the misguided belief that enough class A drugs were all that was required to be a natural at dance music. It's not, believe me.

Some think that the band name is symbolic of the ideal that music is all encompassing and can 'reacharound' all barriers put inplace by society.Other's however, take the view that we were named after a Butthole Surfer's interview during which they discussed a fist f***. The decision is yours.....

The band comprise of Ros Trayner on vocals, Alan McGirr on drums/vocals, Steven Black on bass/vocals and Jon Anderson on guitar/vocals, and are trying to achieve some sort of Pixies,Pavement and Iggy hybrid, whilst drawing on our own experience for lyrics. An honest approach.

We are currently working on our first e.p : to be provisionally titled 'Thank f*** it's the Reacharounds', so gigs are somewhat sporadic.Though we can be seen around our home town of Stirling from time to time.Check the Retro Bar and .......a trip to Aberdeens Drakes Bar has also be scheduled for the beginning of August with further plans for Scotlands other cities planned a.s.a.p.

Anyway, thats about that except to say thanks to Gen and "hear me roar" promotions for the site and organising our North Scotland gigs, whenever and wherever they may be.
