The band that later became NECROSITY started somewhere around 98'.
Rob (our drummer) was also involved in another project called
ONE DAY AWAY at the time.Geof, Ray and Rob started jaming with
the hopes of getting a decent death metal sound. They thought they
had it all,but lacked one crucial element; a vocalist. I at the time
was ravaging myself with drugs, and heard little bits and pieces
of how good the band was doing from Ray. He kept asking me if I could
somehow learn how to do the low death metal vocals, and I felt less
than sure about being able to produce that kind of vocals well.
However, i eventually recorded a tape with Ray and he played it for
the rest of the band. They liked it, and we made our first song
BEATEN INTO SUBMISSION.
All seemed to be working well, but we lacked one crucial element :
A NAME. We looked up all sorts of words in the dictionary,The
Satanic Bible, and a few other sources; and came up with titles like
REVILE,ABADDON, and a few other names that we later found out were
taken. Finally, I thought of the name NECROPSY and NECROSITY, and
called RAY to tell him about NECROPSY (i thought NECROSITY wasn't
as good), he liked it and we told it to the rest of the band only to
find it was taken already. Well that left NECROSITY, which seemed to
be a pretty good name. And the rest is pretty much history.
