BRAD NEWS & SITE UPDATES
(OCTOBER 2002)
- Brad Pitt walked off the Australian set of his latest movie "The Fountain" because he allegedly couldn't bear to be away from his wife Jennifer Aniston. Brad was desperately unhappy on the set - especially after a series of supposed creative disputes with director Darren Aronofsky, and longed to be back in the arms of Aniston. One insider says: "Brad made it clear that he'd had a bellyful, that he wanted to get back home as soon as possible and wild horses wouldn't drag him back. He spoke with Jennifer several times a day." Pitt wasted no time in getting home after making the difficult decision to quit the production. He hired a private limousine to ferry him to the airport and paid for a first class ticket to Los Angeles. The romantic dash home has scorched reports that the happiest relationship in Hollywood was in trouble. Aniston was reportedly furious when her husband's work took him to the other side of the world. But a source says, "He leveled with the movie bosses saying, 'Jen's everything to me. I'm determined that this business won't screw up our marriage.' It was quite extraordinary." One more thing - after quitting "The Fountain" Brad was finally able to shave his beard. Finally!!! Source: INTERNATIONAL MOVIE DATABASE

- "Ocean's Eleven" director Steven Soderbergh is reuniting his all-star cast for the sequel to the hit heist caper - and he's taking them to Europe. George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Julia Roberts and Matt Damon are all in talks for the new installment, which will begin filming in Automn 2003 if everything does to plan. Oscar winner Soderbergh wants to return to the Rat Pack remake, which grossed a massive $600 million worldwide after its release last year, because he's sure he can improve on his last effort. He says, "I know we can make a better film. I know we'll shoot in Europe and that all the actors are in on it by now." Source: INTERNATIONAL MOVIE DATABASE

- Brad will play Achilles in Wolfgang Petersen's Greek epic "Troy" - Warner Bros has confirmed. Filming is scheduled to start in spring 2003 in UK, Malta and Morocco. The movie, based on Homer's epic story, is Petersen's first since "The perfect storm" in year 2000 and will continue to explore the Ancient theme (remember "Gladiator"?). 62-years old director, who is also a producer of "Troy", announced that he wants no to cross the 100 million budget with his new flick that's why Brad is going to be paid no more than 15 million dollars for his role. Unofficial sources said that this is the price for Brad for quitting "The Fountain" without any agreement with WB's officials.

- And finally congratulations for Jennifer Aniston who won (after being only nominated twice) the Emmy for her role in TV comedy serie "Friends". Third time lucky! Of course, Jen attended the ceremony with Brad and they looked just wonderful!

(MARCH 2002)
- With two Oscar nominations racked up for his picture "Monster's Ball", Swiss-born director Marc Forster has made a monster, seven-figure deal to shoot the AIDS drama "Dallas Buyers Club". Insiders say Brad Pitt has strong interest in toplining the Universal Pictures project, but no negotiations have yet begun. The term "Buyers Club" refers to an underground pharmacy that supplies HIV drugs approved for use in other countries and that undercut the prices of FDA approved drugs for people with AIDS throughout the American south. "Dallas" tells the story of Ron Woodroof, a redneck electrician who contracted HIV around 1980 and developed full-blown AIDS by 1986. Woodroof "was told to go home and die," said the film's producer, David Bushell, but instead went on to found one of the most risky and effective AIDS-related disease management efforts at the time. He tested illegal drugs on himself to prolong his life six years and help thousands of people with AIDS. But he did not do so altruistically, at least at first. Woodroof was "as racist and homophobic as they come" according to the film's co-screenwriter, Craig Borten, who scored an interview with him shortly before he died in 1992 after reading a magazine article about him in a U.K. magazine. (Borten wrote the script with Melissa Wallack.) Woodroof's main motive was profit, and as a heterosexual good ol' boy, the last thing he was hoping for was to help people whose lifestyles he found somewhere between ridiculous and repugnant. But having lost his family and friends after he was identified HIV positive, Woodroof began his experimentation-- and along the way befriended many in the gay community and became a fearless advocate for the HIV positive against a bureaucratic Food and Drug Administration. - Brad Pitt has been voted the sexiest actor in Hollywood by an American movie magazine. The handsome star topped "Movieline" magazine's 'Hot and Bothered' poll and narrowly beat Benicio Del Toro and George Clooney into second and third place. The female survey was won by Cameron Diaz who beat Angelina Jolie, Ashley Judd and Jennifer Lopez.

- Brad Pitt has been introduced to bloodsports by director Guy Ritchie. Brad was inducted into the culture last weekend while staying at Ritchie's and pop queen Madonna's new English country home, Ashcombe Park in Wiltshire. A fellow guest of the Ritchie's confides: "Brad proved he can handle a 12-bore. He acquitted himself well and could almost pass as an English gent." Brad was in the UK incognito last week, minus wife Jennifer Aniston, for meetings with Ritchie to discuss another on-screen collaboration. (source: International Movie DataBase)

- Brad Pitt splashed out on a $21,000 birthday party for his beloved wife Jennifer Aniston. Jen turned 33 and wept with joy when she arrived at the surprise bash in to Hollywood Japanese restaurant Katana. Brad organised the guest list, including her co-stars David Schwimmer and Lisa Kudrow and had bakers make a miniature replica of the couple's wedding cake. After traditionally "Happy Birthday", Brad toasted his wife, saying: "Happy birthday Jen. You're my best friend, my soulmate and the one I'll spend eternity with. I don't know what I did to deserve you. But I thank God every day that you came into my life. I love you, now and forever." Brad went on to present her with a platinum bracelet with two charms including a antique diamond encrusted locket that contained a photo of the pair on one of their first dates.
(JANUARY 2002)
- I've just finished to watch Golden Globes ceremony and, babe, there's still long way to go for me to understand why the awards was given to them who received them :) For example - "Amelie" lost to some Bosnian movie. A political decision? That's probably the only explanation. "You gave up Miloschevic, we give you Golden Globe!" - a kind of. "Lord of the Rings" didn't get ANY Globe... is the movie - which is probably the top of these what people can do right now in movie bussiness - not worth any prize?! And "Sex and the City"...?! C'mon... I know American hipocrysy ("Ooooh... we're saints but on the other hand we have the best porn studios of the world and we DO like to talk about sex!") but enough is enough (and after all I thought that this awards are given by foreign press!). I know that everybody has some kind of sexual frustration but is this a reason for giving a prize that crappy serie? And... of course... Jennifer Aniston lost. Doesn't matter. She looked pretty - especially like for a victim of car crash (read: crash made in journalists' minds). Brad Pitt wasn't that hot like he usually is. I definitely don't like "men in beard" :) and I don't know... is it only me or something?... it seems like Brad has a few pounds more than before... Anyway :) here are the Golden Globes 2002 results:

- Brad Pitt was turned down for the lead in a biopic - by the subject's mother. Brad was introduced to the music of cult rock hero Jeff Buckley by his wife Jennifer Aniston. The singer died tragically in 1997, and Pitt is desperate to bring the story of his life to the screen. But Buckley's mother Mary Guibert insists no movie will be made - not even if Pitt swears to do her son justice. She says: "In the first hour of my meeting with Brad he pulled out the folders. I said: "If you're going to ask me if you can make a Jeff Buckley film, the answer is no." I told Brad that if he had a close-up of his face on the screen with Jeff's music coming out of his mouth, then he would be a laughing stock. Everyone who loves Jeff cringes at the idea of Brad putting brown contact lenses over his baby blues and letting his hair grow. I do not want to see myself portrayed, I do not want to see Jeff portrayed, no actor can do it. His death still hurts. If anyone wants to make this film, it will be after I'm gone." -Eco-friendly Brad Pitt is urging President George W. Bush to use the terrorist attacks of September 11th and the subsequent war in the Middle East to push through new environmental breakthroughs. Brad is appalled that no politician is promoting oil alternatives - so America no longer has to rely on imports from the Middle East. Pitt says: "We keep going back into the history of these extremists, these fundamentalists, and understanding the Islamic culture, and understanding foreign policy. We're embracing religion, which is a beautiful thing to see, but the thing no one is talking about is oil. Why don't we set ourselves free? We have the technology for electric cars, and we have other power sources. Yes, it would be expensive to make the switch over, but we could, and we would have complete autonomy from our need for oil. We would not have to rape Alaska, and we wouldn't have to be dependent on those guys over there. In the long term, if we could free ourselves from the dependency of oil, we'd be alright."
