Really Interesting Bit?!?

This is supposedly the really interesting bit, well some people might be sad enough to think that but I don't. So If you really want to carry on reading this crap, go ahead but I don't want to be held responsible for damage to you computer when you fall asleep and land on the keyboard.

OK right, as you may have already guessed by now, I am the Indie Kid. More commonly known as Vicky and sometimes known as 'Thicky Vicky'. I don't think I really need to explain that and if you don't get it you're thicker than me. Anyway, I'm 15 now and I live near Derby in England (yes, there are some people out there who haven't got a clue where Derby is...) Anyway, I go to Kirk Hallam School... sorry. They've changed the name now. You have to be all posh. Kirk Hallam Community Technology College. I'm in year 11 and I leave school in May. I can't wait! I'll have a couple of months of exams then total freedom for 11 weeks. Then College. D'oh! There's always a downside isn't there...

I really like the Stereophonics and the Manic Street Preachers and stuff like that. Hence the name 'The Indie Kid'. Actually, that wasn't my idea. But it sort of stuck so here I am. It sounds better that boring old 'Vicky'. I went to V99 in August for the day. I went to the Staffordshire bit on the Sunday to see the Manics and they were brilliant. They played 'Masses against the classes', the new song, and it's brilliant. Like the old Generation Terrorists stuff. Really good. I saw Travis, Shed 7, Levellers, Mel C (not my highlight of the day suprisingly), Afro Celt Sound System, A, The Beautiful South, Eagle Eye Cherry and Faithless. It was a really good day and I even saw someone there that I knew. But I don't think he recognised me. Rumour has it he spent £130 on beer that weekend and didn't see one band. Gutted!

I'm off to Birmingham on the 12th of December to see the Stereophonics so that's the next big thing that's happening. It should be fun :o) Just one problem though. It's a Sunday and I have to go to school the next day. Oh well. At least I'll have an excuse for falling asleep in History this time...
