To celebrate the opening of CLOSER TO HEAVEN Pet Shop Boys will be making an appearance at Tower Records in Piccadilly : London, on Monday, June 4 at 1pm . On the same day (15 years after the release of their album, Please), the first six studio album remasters will be released. Each will feature a bonus cd, plus a 36-page booklet with new liner notes and previously unseen photographs.
The UK programme "Top Ten - Electropop" on terrestrial "Channel 4" (which will feature the Pets) has been put back in the shedules and will now not be broadcasted until April 7th !!
Neil
has agreed to be interviewed for a BBC documentary entitled
"Soundtrack". This will feature the 20th Century's greatest
performers, songwriters and producers. It will be broadcast world wide, starting
with the UK (on BBC 2) and then in the US, autumn 2001. BBC Radio 3 will also be
interviewing Neil on the programme "Private Passions". More details to
follow.

EMI have been currently re-mastering and re-issuing the back catalogues of some of their best selling acts. In 1997 they began re-mastering the entire back catalogue of "MARILLION". Each release was presented in 24bit digital re-master, a 2nd cd featuring demos, b-sides, 12" versions and unreleased tracks, plus an updated booklet accompanying the album. This re-mastering series ended earlier this year with a box set of single releases. Alongside this release was also a box set of "MORRISEY" singles, the high sales of which had forced EMI to seek other bands out who would benefit from a complete re-mastering programme. EMI came up with two bands who hold high esteem in the record label to do just this, the first band is "QUEEN" the second "PET SHOP BOYS".

By all accounts, these 6 albums
will all be re-issued on the same day which at present stands at :-

Make sure you have this
penciled in your diary, this release date may change. The release of these
albums will be either joined by or proceeded by the video and dvd release of
"NIGHTLIFE TOUR 1999 / 2000" watch this space !!
It is highly likely that Pet Shop Boys will be holding a press release in March regarding details for the forthcoming musical "Closer To Heaven" as soon as the info comes through it will be posted here.
