RnS Online
Issue 2, June 1999

Well, a lot has happened since the last issue of RnS Online... most recently, Gary's open letter to Eddie Vedder on the issue of abortion. This sparked some debate on the Rise N Shine mailing list, and the results of a list poll are included in this issue (along with a reprint of Gary's letter). Another recent development in the ex-Extreme camp is that Pat Badger has joined Super TransAtlantic with Jason Bieler from Saigon Kick - with Pat now intending to go by the name of simply "Badger". Personally I think it's exciting to see Pat move on in the music world, and it'll be interesting to see how the fans respond to his new band. On that note, it was Nuno's direction in the music world that sparked an (at times) raging argument on the mailing list: upon the release of the Mourning Widows album, fans appeared to split into two distinct groups... those who "had faith", and those that weren't prepared to pay an import price for something they had not heard yet. The debate raged on for a while, descending into areas like "I'm a true fan and you're not", culminating in deep frustration for all concerned! But enough on that topic...

This issue of RnS Online has some fantastic contributions, as you'll see in the list of features and columns. A new idea I've introduced is that of the "Classic Pic", where in each issue I'll try to dig out a photo that's either candid, rare, or just plain funny... If you have a picture of any Extreme members that you think would fit well in this section, please, by all means, send me a jpg scan!

There is also a new Extreme fanzine - Unconditionally, a print fanzine in Brazil run by Simone DeTemple, Samantha Willard and Tamara Alexandre. If you're interested in this zine, please email them at unconext@ez-poa.com.br. Print fanzines take a LOT of work to produce - so please support Unconditionally in any way you can. And while you're at it, please also support both the print and online versions of Rise N Shine/Li'l Fanzine...

Enjoy this issue!
