My
name is John B Davies and I live in one of the most beautiful parts of My
home town is Although
we experience a large rainfall, when it's fine and sunny the scenery is
magnificent.
I
purchased my first digital camera in 2001 and since then my life changed
completely, although having
been interested in PHOTOGRAPHY for over 30 years. Since
my retirement, it now takes up a significant part of my life. My
latest camera is the Canon EOS D5 digital camera with 13 mega pixels. I
also have a Canon G9 compact 12 mega pixel camera, and both these cameras have
been the best I have owned so far …… .
. . . . . . . . . especially the
5D when coupled with the 24 > 105mm f4 (red ring lens) I
have also purchased a NEW digital video camera being the Panasonic HDC-SX5 HD
picture size 1920x1080. The
improvements since the analogue age is VERY VERY significant indeed, especially
when played back via a HD LCD television. I
resigned from the Swansea Camera Club last year after having been a member
for 5 years, but
since then photographically, I have been extremely busy indeed. In
the past five months, I have been invited to 26 different venues to give a
talk on photography, Judge
photographic events and or club monthly competitions and also give numerous
digital slide shows which
are documentary shows based on my holiday experience and various parks other
events. These
shows run for no more than 30/40 minutes duration. They
contain music and voice over using Picture To Exe. See
my list on ‘PRODUCTS & SERVICES’ page …………………….. .
. . . . . . . . . . . . Retirement
now sees another challenge. Below
you will find my successful AWPW
Panel - ( Associate of The Welsh Photographic Federation ) October
2005 I
have also obtained the CPAGB ( Credit Award Photographic Alliance of Great Britain ) in November 2006. In
April 2007 I obtained the DPAGB ( DISTINCTION Award Photographic Alliance of
Great Britain ) I
have also been successful in the competitions ‘Something Unique about Swansea’. Winning the First Prize (
a compact 7 mega pixel digital camera ) in 2004, 2006 and 2007 If
you are like-minded and have similar interests, please make contact so that
we may exchange ideas, and
possibly help one another in the pursuits of improving our PHOTOGRAPHY.
