Broadmarsh and Victoria Centre are connected by Clumber Street. This is one of the busiest thoroughfares in England. |

The Council House stands in Old Market Square, this is the centre of Nottingham. Each side of the Council House is a statue of a lion. These lions are a place where many people would arrange to meet their date. It is said that there are three women to every man in Nottingham, but I'm still waiting for my other two. There is also a local saying, that when a young innocent girl walks past the Council House, you will hear the lions roar. I have never heard them roar yet. (pass your mouse pointer over links) |
The Salutation stands on Maid Marion Way, which I believe is the ugliest road in Nottingham. This public house was built in 1240 AD, but is by no means the oldest Inn in Nottingham. |
The Trip To Jerusalem, is reputed to be the oldest Inn in England. It dates back to 1189 AD and stands alongside Nottingham Castle. In fact the Trip To Jerusalem is built into part of the rock that the Castle stands on. It was so named because the knights visited it on their way to the crusades in the Holy Land.
