STOCKHOLM, Sweden (AP) -- A Swedish man with a stuffed-up nose is
breathing easier -- now that he's pulled a cloth out of his head.
Swedish newspapers carried the account of a man who had a brain tumor
operation last month. He'd been bothered by congestion ever since.
Then, last week, he was blowing his nose when he felt something
peculiar.
It turned out to be a piece of cloth used during the operation to
absorb fluids. It was 31 inches long.
Officials at the hospital where the surgery was done say the mistake
of leaving a cloth inside a patient's head is terrible.
But the patient himself figures it could be worse. "In any case, they
didn't amputate the wrong leg or ear," he said.
