P/O D.G.Cobden of No 74 Squadron a New Zealander joined the R.A.F. in 1937/8. He made a forced landing on the 10th of July 1940 after sustaining battle damage to his Spitfire (P9399) whilst attacking some 26 Dorniers escorted by fighters over a convoy near Dover. On the 11th of August 1940 he was shot down and killed in a Spitfire I (R6757) during combat with Bf 110's East of Harwich at 12:15hrs. D.G.Cobden is buried at Oostende Communal Cemetery he was 26 years old.
P/O John R.Cock flew with No 87 Squadron and was the first Australian to shoot down an enemy aircraft in WW II . He baled out of his Hurricane I (V7233) safely after being shot down off Portland Bill on the 11th of August 1940 at 10:50hrs by Helmut Wick in a Bf 109. He swam ashore slightly injured. The Hurricane I (V7233) LV-K was recovered in 1983 and was on display at Tangmere Aviation Museum.
F/O D.A.Coke of No 257 Squadron was wounded when his Hurricane I (P3776) was badly shot  up over the Channel off Portsmouth at 13:00hrs on the 12th of August 1940. His aircraft was repaired and used again.
P/O E.Jack Coleman served with No 54 Squadron flying Spitfire's during the Battle of Britain. He was K.I.A. on the 17th of February 1941.
F/O P.Collard of No 615 Squadron was on the 11th of August 1940  awarded the D.F.C. He was shot down and killed off Dover on the 14th of August 1940 in a Hurricane I (P3109) at 12:45hrs.  P.Collard is buried at Pye Plage in France, he was 24 years old.
Sgt G.R.Collett joined No 54 Squadron on the 15th of July 1940. He destroyed a Bf 109 on the 24th of July and was injured when he ran out of fuel chasing an enemy aircraft and had to force land on Dunwich Beach, Suffolk at 12:15hrs, in his Spitfire I (N3192). G.R.Collett was K.I.A. on the 22nd of  August 1940, at 13:15hrs. He was shot down in his Spitfire I (R6708) by a Bf 109 over Deal in Kent. Sgt G.R.Collett is buried at Bergin op Zoom, The Netherlands, aged 24.
P/O Leon W.Collingridge of No 66 Squadron was injured when he crash landed his  Spitfire I (N3042) on the beach at Oxfordness on the 29th of July 1940 at 14:40hrs. He had been in combat with a Heinkel He 111 and his Spitfire I (N3042) was written off. 
S/L A.R.Collins of No 72 Spitfire Squadron was wounded on the 2nd of September 1940. He had been in combat over the Thames Estuary at 17:30hrs in a Spitfire I.
F/Lt Basil Collyns was born in Greymouth New Zealand on 24 February 1913 and he attended Nelson College from 1925 to 1930 and spent two years at Lincoln Agricultural College before becoming a sheep farmer at Kaikoura.  He was posted to No 238 Squadron on September the 28th 1940 after training and took part in the later stages of the Battle of Britain. On the 20th of August 1944 Basil Collyns destroyed an FW 190 in a sweep over the
 Cherbourg Peninsula and was then shot down. He crashed near a railway crossing near Rouvres, he was thrown clear of his aircraft and killed instantly. His body was taken to the Mayor's house and at the funeral two days later the entire village attended with so many flowers the Germans protested. In October 1944 Collyns was posthumously awarded the D.F.C., having been credited with seven enemy aircraft destroyed and many others damaged.
P/O Peter W.Comley of No 87 Squadron was killed on the 15th of August 1940. His  Hurricane I (P2872) was shot down by a Bf 110 off Portland at 18:05hrs but was seen to shoot a Bf 110 down before he was killed.
F/O F.H.P.Conner of No 234 Squadron baled safely out of his Spitfire I (X4016) near Southampton on the 16th of August 1940. He had been in combat with a Bf 109 off Portsmouth.
F/Lt. Stanley Dudley Pearce Connors of No 111 Squadron was a pre war officer who by 1940 was a Flight Leader. He Flew in France and shot down 3 He 111's, a Bf 109 and 2 Ju 88's for which he was awarded a D.F.C. on the 26th of May 1940. He was later awarded the Bar to his D.F.C. His scoe of kills was 11 for the conflict. He was killed on the 18th of August 1940 when his Hurricane I (R4187) was hit by A.A. fire during an attack on a Do17 of KG 76 near Wallington, at 13:20hrs.
F/O Michael H.Constable-Maxwell of No 56 Squadron destroyed one aircraft before and one during the Battle of Britain, in addition to being shot down three times himself, once on the 28th of August 1940. He crash landed his Hurricane I (R4117) near Hearne Bay at 13:10 after combat with a Bf 109. Later, he teamed with Sgt J.Quinton on night-fighters and they recorded six night victories.  Constable Maxwell received the D.S.O. on the 22nd of September 1944 and the D.F.C. on the 18th of May 1945. 
Sgt H.Cook of No 66 Squadron crash landed his Spitfire I (X4543) at R.A.F. Hornchurch due to battle damage on the 13th of October 1940 at 16:10hrs. He was not injured.
P/O C.A.Cooke  of No 66 Squadron baled out of his Spitfire I (R6689) on the 4th of September 1940 at13:40hrs. He was slightly wounded and had been attacked by a Bf 109 over Ashford, Kent.
F/Sgt C.J.Cooney of No 56 Squadron was killed on the 29th of July 1940 at 07:45hrs. His Hurricane I (P3879) was shot down by a Bf 109 over the Channel, near Dover.
Sgt S.F.Cooper of No 253 Squadron was not injured when he crashed his Hurricane I (P2631) on the 30th of August 1940 at 17:20hrs near to Biddenden.
P/O T.P.M.Cooper-Slipper of No 605 Squadron was scrambled to meet 3 waves of bombers and escort fighters on the 15th of September 1940 . He ran out of ammunition so he rammed a Do 17 of KG 3 he then lost control of his Hurricane I (L2012) and baled out safely over Marden, Kent at 14:30hrs.`
Sgt L.E.M.Coote of No 600 Squadron suffered burns at some time during his service.  Coote was K.I.A. on the 3rd of October 1943.
Sgt. R.Copcutt was with No 248 Squadron during the Battle of Britain flying in Blenheim's. On the 20th of October 1940 he was on a recce sortie off the Norwegian coast flying in Blenheim IVf (P6952) when he was shot down and killed. Also in the crewe was G.H.Baird, D.L.Burton and S.V.Wood.
Sgt P.Copeland of No 616  Squadron  was wounded on the 26th of August 1940 at 13:15hrs. His Spitfire I (K9827) was shot down by a Bf 109 near Wye. He baled out with burns.
P/O J.H.H.Copeman of No 111 Squadron was shot down in his Hurricane I (P3105) and killed in combat on the 11th of August 1940 . He is buried at Middelkerke near Ostend.
P/O George Henry Corbett a Canadian of No 66 Squadron was wounded on the 9th of September 1940 at 18:00hrs.He baled out of his Spitfire I (N3049) over East Grinstead after being shot down by a Bf 109. G.H.Corbett was killed on the 8th of October 1940 at 09:30hrs. His Spitfire I (R6779) was shot down by a Bf 109 near Chatham.
F/L V.B.Corbett a Canadian from No 1 (RCAF) Squadron damaged his Hurricane I (L1851) at Hornchurch during a Scramble on the 18th of August 1940 when he ran into a fuel bowser at 14:40hrs. He was shot down by Bf 109's at 09:20hrs on the 31st of August 1940 he baled out of his Hurricane I (P3869) over Gravesend but suffered burns. He later commanded No 402 Squadron (the second  R.C.A.F. Squadron) and was awarded the D.F.C. on the 13th of February 1942. Corbett was killed in a flying accident on the 20th of February 1945, aged 33.
On the 20th of July1940 Sgt H.Corcoran and his pilot ( E.E.Lockton )were flying escort in their Blenheim I (L1300) of No 236 Squadron. They were shot down and killed off Cherbourg by a Bf 109 of JG 27 at 18:20hrs.
Sgt D.F.Corfe  rejoined No 610 Squadron on the 25th of July after a spell with No 73 Squadron. He shot down a Bf 109 on the 14th of August 1940. On the 22nd of August his Spitfire (R6695 'P') was written off  when  he crashed at Hawkinge after combat with a Bf 109 at 14:15hrs.Corfe moved to No 66 Squadron where he was shot down again and injured on the 18th of September 1940 while on patrol, his Spitfire (R6603) was written off in the crash following combat over Canterbury at 10:30hrs. The aircraft crashed at Petham, Kent.  D.F.Corfe was K.I.A.on the 25th of April 1942, aged 24.
Sub/Lt. Richard John 'Dickie' Cork joined No 242 Squadron on the 1st of July 1940 from the R.N.V.R. He wore naval Uniform but was subject to RAF discipline as if he was a full member of a Squadron. He was awarded the D.S.O. on the 18th of October 1940.
On the 29th of May 1940 F/O R.N.H. Courtney was shot down and wounded over Dunkirk. He returned to No 151 Squadron on the 18th of  July 1940. In 1944 Courtney was commanding a squadron in Burma and was awarded the D.F.C. on the 8th of September 1944, being credited with three enemy aircraft destroyed. Awarded the Bar to the D.F.C. on the 29th of January 1946 and the A.F.C. on the 1st of January 1954. In 1954 Courtney lead the Battle of Britain Fly-past.
P/O G.W.Couzens joined No 54 Squadron  in June 1940. He was awarded the A.F.C. on the 14th of June 1945.
F/O W.H.Coverley of No 602 Squadron baled out of his Spitfire I (P9381) after combat with some Bf 109's over Dorchester at 17:50hrs on the 25th of August 1940. He escaped injury. W.H.Coverley was shot down on the 7th of September 1940. He baled out of his Spitfire over Biggin Hill but died of his wounds.
P/O A.R.Covington of No 238 Squadron baled safely out of his Hurricane I (R4099) near Poole, Dorset on the 1st of October 1940 at 11:10hrs after combat with a Bf 109.  A.R.Covington was injured and baled out of his Hurricane I (V6777) after combat with a Bf 109 over Blandford on the 7th of October 1940 at 16:20hrs. His aircraft crashed at Wynford Eagle, Dorset.
F/Lt. James (Jimmy) B.Coward was with No 266 Squadron at the start of the War. He was flying with No 19 Squadron when he was injured on the 31st of August 1940 at 08:30hrs. He baled out of his Spitfire I (X4231) with a serious leg wound after combat with a Do 17 near Duxford. His leg was later amputated. The Spitfire I (X4231) crashed at Little Shelford, Essex.
Sgt J.Cowley of No 87 Squadron  force landed his  Hurricane I (P2872) near Bridgeport after combat with a Bf 110 off Portland on the 15th of August 1940 at 18:05hrs. He was slightly injured, but his Hurricane  was a write off.
Sgt J.R.Cowsill was on patrol with No 56 Squadron in a  Hurricane (N2432) on the 13th of July 1940. He was shot down and killed over Calais by a Bf 109 of JG 51 at 16:45hrs.
Sgt David G.S.R.Cox of No 19 Squadron was wounded on the 27th of September 1940 at12:20hrs. He crash-landed his Spitfire I (X4237) after a dogfight with a Bf 109 near Wye.
P/O K.H.Cox joined No 610 Squadron on the 27th of  July 1940 . Cox destroyed two Bf 109's one on the 12th of  August and anther on the 18th of August. Cox was shot down by Bf 109's and killed in his Spitfire I (P9511) on the 28th of August 1940 at 17:00hrs over Dover, aged 24.
F/O P.A.N.Cox of No 501 Squadron on patrol in his  Hurricane I (P3808) was shot down and killed by a Bf 109 off Dover on the 27th of July 1940 at 17:45hrs.
Sgt R.C.R.Cox of No 248 Squadron was killed along with his crew ( Sgt E.A.Ringwood & P/O C.J.Arthur ) on the 27th of August 1940 around mid-day. They were on a recce in a Blenheim off the Norwegian coast.
