English translation by Vitaminb

Well, after reaching tons of mail, people asking the same, I´ll give you some instruction.
I only have the german version of CDRWin, so I can´t write down the dialog-boxes in english.

First of all, the Burning-Software. You should use CDRWin. It´s the most supportet Software.
Download at http:://www.Goldenhawk.com or other known sites ;)

Next, you need the patch for your image and, if necessary, a tool to apply it. (e.g. for the *.ppf-files)
For using the *.ppf-files (Playstation Patching File) you need the ApplyPPF.exe or the PPF-O-MATIC

Create an image with CDRWin
Start CDRWin and the following appears:

Select the third icon in the first row.
(The one with the red frame)

Now, the next dialog-box comes up:

Here are my settings. If you don´t agree, you can email any suggestions to me.
I ALWAYS use the CD-Writer to read the CD´s.
You can see my settings. Maybe you have to decrease the reading speed.
After entering the path for your image, press the Start-button.
CDRWin will show you, when it is finished successfully.

OK, now you have an image on your HD.

There are a few ways to patch this:

ApplyPPF

Most of the problems people have with is ApplyPPF. It´s a DOS-Program.
You can download a Wizard for ApplyPPF wich make it easier for you to handle.
But first the command-line you have to type in:
Create a text-file (*-txt) in the same Directory where you put in the Image, the Patch and ApplyPPF.com

Now type:
ApplyPPF.com Image.bin Patch.ppf

"Image.bin" stands for the name of your image.file.

"Patch.ppf" for the name of the Patch

e.g.

ApplyPPF.exe_SoulReaver.bin_Pdx-sr.ppf

_ stands for SPACE

There should be no SPACES in the name of the image like
"Soul Reaver.bin".

It should be "SoulReaver.bin"

After that, save the file and rename it to *.bat (e.g. from SR.txt to SR.bat)

Got it ?? I hope so

PPF-O-MATIC

PPF-O-MATIC is a Windows-Application for those of you, who got problems with the ApllyPPF(I will only show how to apply because those of you, who can create a PPF-file know, how to handle it.)
Start the Program...

On the left side it shows „Apply a PPF-File"
The BIN-file is your image-file on the HD.
The "PPF-File" is the patch.
Don´t be irritated about the Description-box. There is nothing to change.

Now, hit the Apply PPF-File!  button.

 PPF-WZD

Well, the PPF-Wizard is an interface for the „ApplyPPF.exe".
That means, you don´t have to type in something; just klick and thats all. ;-)
Do the following:

Copy "ApplyPPF.exe" and "ApplyPPF-WZD.exe" to your image-directory.
It´s the Dir where you put in the image and the PPF-patch.
Start "ApplyPPF-WZD.exe"
In the left box you should see the .bin-image, in the right on the patch-file (*.ppf)
When you select both files, the patch-button will be activate.
Press "Patch" to apply the patch to your image.

Thats all.

Now, you should have a patched image-file ;-)

It´s now time to write back the image to a CD.

OK....I´m using " PHILIPS CD-R 74 Silver Premium " . They work fine for me.
But this depends on your CD-Writer.
Sometimes, older Playstations works better with darker CD-R´s

Load the Cuesheet

Start CDRWin again.

Click on the first icon to write back the image.

Now, press „load Cuesheet" and enter your image-file.

The you get some infos.

 Choose the writing-speed.
In my opinion, 2X is the best compromise between speed and security.
Then press the Start-button.
