Notes:

1 Mika Pietila and 1 Eoin McInerney started in nets.  The Panthers' starting forward lines were Cadotte/Jinman/Purves, Elders/Hadden/Allison, Wood/Jinman/Clarke.  The Panthers' only defensive lines were Hussey/Thompson, Paek/Taubert.  44 Barry Nieckar missed this game due to suspension following the bench clearance in Belfast.  4 Marc Hussey carried the 'A' in Nieckar's absence.

The Panthers' goals at 5.02, 46.32 and 47.57 were all scored on delayed penalties with the netminder pulled.

The referee was called to the time keeper's bench after 2 minutes as the match clock hadn't started counting down.  It was amended accordingly during the next shift.

11 Greg Hadden's Roughing penalty at 36.01 resulted after 11 Jason Rushton ran over netminder 1 Mika Pietila in his crease.  Hadden jumped on top of Rushton in defence of his netminder.  Rushton got 2 minutes for Charging as well.  Hadden was cheered to the sin bin by the home crowd.

At 40.13, there was a stoppage as a puck went over the boards and hit a woman in the stands.  49 Jason Clarke fetched a towel from the home bench and threw it to her to help staunch the blood.  She was led away by the staff and for what its worth, I hope you're OK, lass.

7-3 ! Well that was a welcome relief after last night. Any the difference was ? OK, No.1: The Eagles were pretty poor and scored three soft goals which we let be walked into the net rather appallingly to be honest. I mean how bad must you be for your netminder to let in 7 goals and he still gets Man Of The Match ? (BTW, Eoin's lost how much weight ?) And No.2: No dumb penalties. Hmmmmm, maybe there's a link here.

Can't argue too much with Jason Clarke as Man Of The Match as he did play really well again. That's two goals two nights running for Clarkey. Thought Jinman might get the MOM though.

Can't believe Wood got 5 assists (another was added on the first goal) against his former team. Take note Scott Allison. OK, four of those were of the dodgy second assist variety, but he played a lot better than yesterday.

Allison still seems largely invisible however and a Steeler chick commented down Bunkers after 'Has he been playing this badly for you all season ?'.

Good on Hadden for sorting out the Eagle who crashed over Mika. Was it Rushton or Quinell ? The 11 and 17 looked really similar on their shirts. Nice to hear him cheered all the way to the bin with the Eagle done for Charging. You don't run the N/M.

How beautiful was Jinman's first goal though ??? We're on a delayed penalty and he takes it from our goal line all the way up the ice, dekes through defenders and dummies the goalie to score. Fantastic !

Comedy Moment Of The Match: A puck is passed forward hits Elders in the back of the head and lands down the back of his shirt. He skates on fishing about down the back of his shorts, while D-men look at each other uncertainly going 'I'm not tackling him there !', before pulling it out and dropping it to play on. I guess that's what you call improvisation ! Elders also provided light relief earlier by missing a slapshot wildly and throwing himself down on his own backside. Top man !

Much, much better tonight, good passing, some great goals and most importantly WE KEPT OUR DISCIPLINE!!!
To fair, the Eagles are no great shakes, and they looked a poor side IMHO. Even so we allowed them theree goals, the first & third by giving opposition forwards the freedom of the attacking zone.
We also gave a great attacking performance, especially in the third. John Purves must be a hockey equivilant of Gary Linekar, as he's deadly around the crease.
Lee jinamn, quality player with great skill, I wish we had two more like him.
I'm not getting carried away just yet, but if we can carry this level of performance through to the meeting with the Giants on Saturday, then we might start getting somewhere

so what to do with Dody Wood?? just when you think he's definitely a liability, he plays a great & disciplined game of hockey & gets 4 assists!!!!
very disappointed in eagles, apart from scoring those 2 late goals, they really did not look like competing with us at all!! yes they were missing 3, but we were missing 2 (and 'carrying' 1 piece of....), anyway a great overall team performance from us (with 1 exception), pity we can't play like that at sheffield eh???
oh & anyone know why Charron didn't play??

Was that the real Dody Wood playing last night ? His best game by far this season, but generally the guy doesn't seem interested. His heart hasn't been in it. And another thing with him - Why is he so keen to get off the ice at the end ? He's changed, showered & out of the building before the rest of the team have finished the lap of honour. Does anyone know why ? I know what matters is the performance on the ice, but we pay his wages & he should acknowledge the fans. Buck up Dody, you owe us a few more performances like last night.
