Notes:

1 Mika Pietila and 33 Colin Ryder played in nets.  The Giants did not appear to have a second netminder dressed.  The Panthers' starting forward lines were Cadotte/Jinman/Purves, Elders/Hadden/Allison, Clarke/Jinman/Wood.  The Panthers' starting defensive lines were Charron/Paek, Hussey/Taubert.  44 Barry Nieckar and 15 Briane Thompson were suspended following the brawl in Belfast.

There was an altercation at 39.59 when 27 Mark Cadotte was checked to the ice from behind and no penalty was given.  Play continued but Cadotte went after 7 Lee Sorochan.  The other players paired off around them for the usual wrestle/cuddlefest.  The stripeys broke it up and Cadotte went off the ice for treatment.  When he returned later in the game he appeared to have a significant  number of stitches over his right eye.  The penalties afterward had many scratching their heads.  Sorochan got 2 minutes for Slashing and 72 Lee Jinman got 2 minutes for an invisible crosscheck.  Jinman seemed to be arguing that Referee Boniface had got the numbers the wrong way round and it was actually 27 Mark Cadotte who should have been penalised.  Bizarrely Cadotte escaped scot free.  Also 4 Shane Johnson went in the box, sat down and then came out again as it appeared he hadn't been found guilty of whatever he thought he'd done.

19 Scott Allison's Unsportsmanlike Conduct penalty at 44.34 resulted when he took umbrage at a check on him by 27 Paxton Schulte.  Allison pushed Schulte a few times and offered him out, but Schulte demurred and went to the bench presumably in search of his handbag.

At 48.01 there was another scuffle as 4 Shane Johnson had wound up 49 Jason Clarke too many times and Clarke grabbed hold of him.  Meanwhile at the other end of the ice, 13 Dody Wood was found holding the front of 27 Paxton Schulte's collar and asking him to go.  Schulte turned his face away looking for that handbag again and was rescued by his team mates who ushered him to the bench saying 'Look, there it is next to the stick boy.  Lovely leather shoulder strap and gold clasp, see it ?'.  Clarke and Johnson both received 2 minutes for Slashing and Wood got 2 for Roughing.

The Giants goal at 52.14 was scored into an empty net as netminder 1 Mika Pietila flew out of his crease to try a poke check way out in the corner.  Unfortunately, he didn't make it back between the sticks in time.

At 59.35 the Panthers called a timeout.
