* Did Not Dress
Notes:
31 Danny Lorenz and 33 Mike Torchia started in nets. P.C. Drouin continued to wear the Captain's 'C' as oppose to 32 Joel Poirier.
33 Mike Torchia's Delay Of Game penalty at 7.24 resulted when he cleared the puck directly into the Storm bench.
At 16.25, 19 Mark Bultje ran over semi-injured netminder 31 Danny Lorenz and was immediately pounced on by 2 Jim Paek who jumped on top of him and hit him in the head as he lay face down on the ice. Both Bultje and Paek received 2 minutes for Roughing, Bultje's presumably being for Roughing Lorenz as he couldn't do much to Paek.
There was a face off at the Storm end of the rink with about 1.4 seconds remaining in the first period. The Panthers pulled their netminder, but no miracle shot materialised from either side.
33 Mike Torchia's Holding The Stick penalty at 42.32 resulted when he got in a tangle with 44 Barry Nieckar and ended up lying on the ice with Nieckar's stick somewhere around his collar. Nieckar tried to pull the stick free, but Torchia appeared to be holding it with his glove. Rowe, who was standing on top of the incident, ruled in favour of Nieckar on this occasion.
Early in the third period the Panthers had a goal disallowed after 61 Christian Sjogren got tangled with a Storm defender. Both men tripped over netminder 33 Mike Torchia, flooring him. The pushing match over caught up sticks continued, which prevented Torchia getting up again and in the chaos that followed the puck was roofed in the net. Rowe immediately ruled there was a man in the crease.

I can see the idea behind having the awards presented
after a game so everyone can see it but it does leave a sour taste in the
mouth to see players laughing, joking and hamming it up ten minutes after
they have just bottled it YET AGAIN in an important game. To me it just
summed up what was wrong with this bunch of players (I deliberately don't
use the word team), happy to get the pay check and the applause, and the
ass-kissing from the management but not willing to lay it on the line for
the Nottingham Panthers where it really matters, out there on the ice in
a big game situation. Well played to Danny, he has surpassed my expectations,
surely no goalie has ever faced that number of shots game after game (especially
at home). Finally, on a positive note, many thanks and congratulations
to Randall Weber. A true Nottingham Panther (and there is no higher compliment
I can pay a player than that), I hope that the number 10 shirt hanging
in the arena will be an inspiration and a reminder of what it should mean
to play in the black and gold, as Randall has demonstrated for so many
seasons. Last night, I was wishing they would retire a few more numbers,
and hang the shirts up - with the players still inside them. Oh well. Should
be an interesting trip to Ayr on Friday.

Thought the game last night was entertaining and a good
advert for the sport in general, but in terms of drawing when we should
have won...greatly disappointed. Could have won it, should have won it,
didn't. Are we a 'nearly' team? Think the answer is definetly yes I'm afraid,
and things HAVE to change next season. I'm aware that you could break the
wage cap many times over and have the best players in the league, it doesn't
automatically mean the team will gel as a collective, but.....this team
has gelled and they have the talent. But I for one can't stand the inconsistency.
Finally, a big thank you to Randall, now immortalised as Panthers' #10,
a class act, we'll miss ya' kid.

Well, can't even beat the awesome Manchester Storm at
home. We're so fantastic aren't we??? 4-2 up and we commit the unforgivable,
what the hell is going on here??? Errr, actually no, we're not fantastic.
Rudi, Maloney, Jinman, Lorenz, Clayton, Patrik, Moria, Carllson and Paek
take a bow, the rest of you.......? How dare you put on a Panthers
jersey.

Well, tonight's draw just about puts the tin lid on another disappointing season. Reading the programme, it was almost comical to see GM the GM doing a typical bit of ar$e covering and self-promotion "...my job involves setting the coaches and players on, and virtually leaving them to it" can be paraphrased as "It's their fault that we failed to reach the Play-Off Finals again, not mine!".

I think last night's game demonstrated what's been wrong with this Panthers team all season. You cannot go up by two goals not once but twice (3-1 and 4-2) and then end up drawing 4-4. We have lacked the killer instinct to put team's away when we get in that position repeatedly leading to lost points in games which should have been over by the third period. Naive tactics ? I don't know really as its difficult for me as a layman to spot if we shut down to defend the two goals or carried on pushing forward regardless in search of more, or to know which the best tactic is. It did seem that we sat back on the lead and let it slip.
Felt so sorry for my Niffty Paek as he was dashing around and threw himself on the deck to block a shot. Having the puck bang off your body and still manage to find the net must be pretty galling. PC looked grief stricken leaving the ice when the Storm got it back. Wasn't Randall's goal a beauty though, a shorthander too (well, it would be as he's only on the PK). He finished excellently and the roof lifted for several minutes after. A great and deserved leaving present. Felt sorry for Torchy a bit on the goal that Jinman made too, but if you come out of your crease you have to make sure you get the puck as you will get checked if you don't. Surprised to hear that mathematically we still have a chance to make the play offs. That explains why Adey didn't pull Danny for those last 20 seconds.
Comedy Moment Of The Match: Bultje running over Danny
well late and having Niffty Paek do a psycho attack on him. I saw a Panther
mauling Bultje down on the ice, belting him in the head and thought 'Clayton's
gone again then' only to find my jaw dropping when I saw the Number 2 on
the back of the shirt. Darren The Giant told me Niffty did the same to
Jason Bowen in Belfast for a late hit on Savoie. Its always funnier when
it comes from a player you never suspect. Is it me or have teams shown
an increased propensity to hit Danny at every conceivable opportunity ?
These last few games, he must've been hit or run over about a dozen times.
