Rogesh will be looking to return to the top of
the league batting averages this season. Failing
that he will certainly win the 'greyest hair' and
'stupidest run' competition. Ears also still a
problem.
Will he go the whole season with out hitting the
ball on the off-side? Unlikely to take orders
from anyone - may have to as new 2nd team vice
captain (see Gunn, Dave)
Possibly available throughout the season,
'Stupid' is an excellent puller of the ball. A
shot which is surplus to requirements when
playing at The Nook
Played in every game in 1999, so sure to offer
value for money. Mind you, he won't get any
bowling points!
Tall, big-hitting hero. Outstanding indoor season
bodes well for a promising outdoor season
Very solid batsman with infectious enthusiasm for
the game, Mr Ben could be a very important figure
in 2000. Developing into a true 'Old Boy'
Solid opening batsman and aggressive fielder.
Consistently amongst the runs, should prove to be
a sound investment.
Class act. Club captain for 2000. Hopefully new
responsibility will not affect his form after a
marvellous 1999.
Destructive, powerful batsman. Some would say
slogger. Performed admirably on tour in Spain in
'99.
Very productive 1999 season. Anchor of the Old
Boys batting line up . Some might argue that in
his present condition this is not the only thing
he could anchor!
If he ever plays again, we can guarantee that
whatever he scores will be divisible by 6!
Natural swinger of the ball, if he can avoid
demolishing the stumps on his approach to the
wicket. Big-hitting batsman
Daniel is a 100 percenter which almost makes up
for his lack of co-ordination and ability. As 1st
team vice captain, he could be a key player.
Progressed from a batsman into an all-rounder
since last season, Galvo aims to repeat last year?s
50. Good form should see him make 65.?for
the season!
Hides his enthusiasm very well. The rumours
around the Nook are that 2000 will be Ben's year.
Solid yet elegant batsman and flowering
off-spinner. New 2nd team captain, may have to
keep a tight rein on his new vice! (see Cook,
Nigel)
Developing Batsman / Bowler / Wicket-Keeper with
potential to be 2nd team regular in 2000.
Recovered from close season shoulder injury
sustained facing a fiery onslaught in the nets
(see Pratley Sam) to take many prized scalps at
pre-season nets.
Off-spinning all-rounder with big smile and even
bigger 'Rogesh Bailey style' ears.
Classy Lancastrian batsman who will be hoping he
can recreate his magic 80 from last season more
often. Cool as the proverbial cucumber.
Providing he stays off the 'shlandy', 2000 should
be a big year for Duns.
Last seen playing rugby and claiming never to
play cricket again. We'll see!
Useful seamer with the deadliest slower ball
around. Batting more akin to rounders.
Steady seam bowler. Usually naked or smitten or
both. (see Lund, Daniel)
The future of English cricket, Andy is a left-arm
spinner who actually turns it! (see Hague, Keith)
Took a number of vital wickets last season,
complete rabbit with the bat!
Close season Rogesh Bailey signing, Paul has
taken a while to progress from junior cricket
into the senior game, but better late than never!
El Presidente, Dave is a left arm spinner who
would turn it miles - if only the ball had enough
pace to reach the other end of the wicket!
Legendary left-arm spinner who takes stacks of
wickets without needing to turn it! (see Daynes,
Andy)
Leading wicket taker in 1999. He is to second
team bowling what Chez is to the first team
batting (see Stanfield, Mark).
2nd half of the 'naked' Old boys (see Collard,
Luke) solid bat and useful bowler.
Seasoned campaigner with great record. Not fussy.
Takes on all comers. Will succeed when all around
him fail. Great stamina. Seems to become more
interested against the weaker sides. Old Boys
star turn and absolute steal at £15M
Sharpish medium paced bowler who has severely
endangered his own toes with his bowling in the
nets!
Big in-swing bowler who is also a useful batsman.
Could be a key man both on and off the field this
year.
Steady is the word for Big Col. A natural swinger
with good line and extremely good length.
Now he has been relieved of the burden of 2nd
team captaincy, will it mean his batting can
become more carefree and extravagant?!
Explosive bat, tidy keeper and tricky bowler who
developed a useful bouncer at pre-season nets
(see Martin, Michael)
Scared of showing himself up on his return to the
club, he arranged to have his ankle smashed
playing football. Once fit though, he'll do OK!
