The Nativity Play
by all the Little Ones at the Sunny Day Playschool
One day, two weeks before Christmas, the little ones at the Sunny Day Playschool went into the big school to see the crib that the older children had set up ready for Christmas. A pupil, Todd, showed them all round the display and even let them touch the figures and animals in the crib. Everyone thought it was lovely. They had brought some shoeboxes full of little toys for the children in other parts of the world who couldn't afford Christmas presents, and they laid them down next to the crib. It was little Jenny who said "Why don't we make a crib like that in our playgroup? We could do a Nativity play!"
"But we'll have to do it quickly - it's only a week before the Christmas holidays!" said Kirsten.
Everybody thought it was a brilliant idea.
