can be produced in two ways:

DRAW YOUR OWN

If you can draw your own picture and make copies with slight changes, they can be turned into an animation using an 'animated gif editor'. This a small program that takes your pictures and sticks them together in sequence, then produces one file which acts as an animation when viewed in a browser.
To get the software which, can be used for free to try it out, go to
GIF CONSTRUCTOR. Once you've downloaded and installed it, just follow the simple instructions in the file called 'QuickStart'.

GET THEM FOR FREE

The easiest way is to use an animation made by somebody else.
Go to one of these web pages for free animations which you are entitled to use:

Animated Gifs On-Line
As with other images, you can take animated gifs from anywhere on the web by right clicking as described in the 'pictures' section. However it would be illegal to take animations if permission hadn't been given by the owner.
