Deeks Web Page
H i, this is my first attempt at this internet stuff so you'll have to forgive me if it looks like mince.
I'll attempt to post a few messages and photo's and I'm sure with time and practice I'll manage produce
something that those who know me will be able to look at and laugh.
The photographs that follow were taken on a 5 day trip to Skye on the west coast of Scotland. This was our
second trip to Skye and it should be said that the weather we encountered is not considered to be typical Skye weather!

If I ever manage to master this internet lark, you should be looking at a photograph of me on top of Sgurr Nan Gillean on Skye. We've just finished our ascent via the "Pinnacle Ridge"

Me leading Arrow Route on the Cioch slab. Where are you supposed to place the protection?

Me on the Cioch, Sron na Ciche, Skye. No sign of Sean Connery. (they filmed a scene for The Highlander here)

It looks like it's going to be nice day for the Clach Glas / Blaven traverse.
The start point is across the loch at the right of the trees. Climb the shoulder of Clach Glas (on the right) and then follow the ridge round on to Blaven.

Gina on the way up Clach Glass. It's hot work but views like this make it all worth while. The background shows the main Cuillen ridge with Sgurr nan Gillean to the right of the picture.

Gina finds a shady spot to shelter from the sun.
This flat grassy patch is known as the "putting green" on the Clach Glas / Blaven traverse.

At last we've reached the top of Blaven. We just need to find our way back down.
I wish someone had told me it was going to be this warm and I could have worn shorts.
