In the opening verses of Genesis, is the story of Creation. We are informed that in the beginning, the spirit of God moved on the face of the waters. The initiate should be wise to the understanding that this passage does not refer to physical water, but expresses the principle of the universe being born from a void of emptiness, bereft of the physical qualities of light and matter.
The Water in the biblical sense, is the Universal Unconscious Mind, both formless and timeless, whereas the Spirit is the life substance that flows through this, which then proceeds to give birth to the conscious physical universe, by the power of Mind over Matter .
For while the conscious mind has been blinded by looking directly at the light of The Sun/Apollo, his brother, the subconscious mind reflects the light like a mirror, as would The Moon/Hermes, to reveal the true light of God. The use of the Sun and Moon this way, conveys the Hermetic principle which gives substance to the well coined phrase As Above, So Below . But beware the sensationalist disciples of Satan, (The Conscious Senses), who are blinded by the light of the Sun, for their light arrives not from God, but from the power and authority of Satan. Indeed, it has been written that the forehead, (The Conscious Senses), is a vain thing full of preconceived notions of grandeur, agendas, hidden biases and self-importance.
The Universal Mind, consists of a Physical, (Conscious), and Spiritual, ((Subconscious) universe, divided by a firmament, a sea of glass. And it was through this Sea of glass that Lucifer fell from heaven, creating the physical universe of light and matter. The name Lucifer, can be seen to have derived its meaning from the "Light and Matter" of the physical universe. And it was through this principle that evil became manifest through the Tree of Knowledge. It was an idea which manifested itself into flesh, (Conscious Reality), as can be expressed by a Triad of Quarks, (A Quantum Theory). Hence, before the flesh of the universe became manifest, there was only the good to contend with.
