The Seat of Power
Many people say that God can be reached by
prayer.
Precisely!, for it should be instantly recognised that the very act
of prayer is an inner communing, a concentration of thought with feeling,
within one's mind. And if it is conducted in the proper manner, i.e. from
the heart, prayer becomes an appeal centred toward a place beyond the range
of the adulterated conscious senses.
Instinctively, many people already know that the spirit of God cannot
be contacted via the outside world of light & matter, which is why
they seek to converse with the spirit of God through the purified subconscious
mind. The inner centre that is sought, is the unconscious mind, both formless
and timeless and unaffected by the finite boundaries of the conscious senses.
In many spiritually inspired paintings, the purified subconscious is
portrayed as a luminous white globe that surrounds the heads of the saints
and prophets.
