These are some of the pictures that were taken during a camping holiday in July 2000. I pitched up at a site in Johnston Canyon, not far from Lake Louise, in the Banff National Park, and just pointed and shot images while on various trails. I don't have any photographic knowledge and if I had intended, when I took them, that they might end up on public display I would have taken more care over them. However, I hope the natural beauty of the area will compensate for my shortcomings.

I like the tranquility that mountains & lakes inspire with their apparent stability and permanence, however they haven't always been there as they appear to the observer at the moment they are seen. The rivers also appear permanent but on closer inspection the constantly moving water reveals the true transitory nature of things.
