Third Contact

Third contact took place at 12:27:48 and we were momentarliy treated to the Diamand-Ring effect.   As quickly as  totality had started daylight returned, at first as the strange murky light.  One characteristic that we experienced after third that is not picked up on these pictures is the rippling 'shadow-bands'.  These were especially noticeable on the white card which was being use to project the image of the Sun through binoculars.
