Welcome to my Life Improvement page, chums. It offers advice on Life Improvement as according to me, and lots of links for you to follow. No beating about the bush for my readers there, eh? Marvellous.
Right. How Can I Improve My Life then?
The simple answer to this is to follow my guidelines, and ignore as many of them as you see fit. The Trash Heap, as Fraggles fans will know, has spoken.
Stop leaving upturned spoons in the sink. That one gets me every time.
Exercise. Not always fun, but a few press-ups a night (and I don't mean doing it the girly way...you know what I mean...) could do wonders for those biceps and pecs.
Get a girlfriend (or boyfriend if you're a lady). They're great, 'cause they can keep you warm, make you smile, and best of all you'll get a Valentine's Card that isn't from your mum. And they'll be all impressed by those new muscles you've just got.
Listen to great music, and sing along at the top of your voice, even if you have as much musical talent as some kind of bizarre monkey/badger cross-breed. And listen to the lyrics. They're there for a reason.
Learn to play a musical instrument. Try something nice, like a flute. Or if you can't blow for that long, try a xylophone. Patrick Moore can play one of those, and he's just a big floating electronic head with a bionic eye, so it can't be that hard.
Expand your mind in unusual ways, either by learning loads of stuff or just watching good TV. Y'know...for education... ;^) Or just look at those bizarre M. C. Escher pictures. This gallery is full of those really cunning optical illusions, and are so good they would even make Mr. Escher himself go for a good lie down, or possibly sideways.
Get really interested in something, like oceanography, or particle physics, or the SpiceGirls, and find out as much as you can about it, to impress that new girlfriend of yours. Don't get too interested in it, though - that'd just be freaky. And that new girlfriend might get jealous of Posh, what with all those posters of her covering every inch of your wall. Deviant. Good job my girlfriend likes her too, eh?
Drink Vimto, the fruit drink of Champions. Have it hot in the winter, cold in the summer, and with Sprite at Christmas to give it that festive zing. Packed with Vitamin C, and it tastes great. What more could a human wish for? Apart from being alone on a desert island with Drew Barrymore, natch.
Watch cool stuff on TV, like DueSouth or something. You could learn a thing or two from that Mountie. Like...erm...how to tell what a chicken eats just by tasting it's eggs, or how to survive in a nunnery. Y'know...useful stuff.
Do your own thing, and don't listen when people tell you what to do. That, of course, was me being secretly ironic.
And to help you along on that music thing, here's...
Why not pop along to my very own Music Emporium for a load of sound bites, videos and reviews of all my fave music?
Or even pop along to my Music Links page, which used to be part of this one and probably led you here in the first place. Those search engines, eh? Tsk. Here you'll find interesting links for great sites on Sarah McLachlan, Lisa Loeb and the whole Crowded House / Neil Finn thing.
Or you could just visit CDnow to hear snippets from any CD's you're thinking of getting. For Music Boulevard is no more :^(
What's that? You want a collection of links to some great places on the web? Look no further, matey, than the following set they're already calling "The Greatest Collection Of Links To Other Interesting Stuff On The Web, As Decided By Your Mama"...
Learn all about the Aurora Borealis - the Northern Lights. Or just look at all the cool pics, like I did ;^)
Try out some rather groovy science experiments on-line, like mixing cool chemicals and blowing up the lab, or finding out what happens when you stick whipped cream in a decompression chamber. I kid ye not.
The Halls Of Tolkien. A beautiful gallery of the most awe-inspiring images from the world of The Master himself. You'll stay there for hours. No, really.
It's the Tomorrow's World home page (and this isn't just here because the divine Philippa Forrester presents it). And that link wasn't there just so you could see a load of pictures of her, or anything ;^) I have my very own gallery for that :^)
The Eric Schwartz web site, home of the sexiest rodent around, Amy the Squirrel. The Unofficial site is quite marvellous too.
Check out some enchanting photo's of Britain on Kai Haseloh's Process C-41 gallery page - some of these are quite breathtaking. See! Also his page of humourous road-signs.
Ever wanted to explore the Pyramids of Egypt? Then surf no further than this link for an interactive, virtual tour.
Time Team. The only TV program in the world watched solely by me and my mum. And the Stone Circle webring is a great place to go if you're interested in neolithic sites, prehistory, or archaeology. They have loads of nice pics and everything.
All you ever need to know about Celtic mythology. Except possibly how to actually pronounce those Irish names.
Why not enrich your life a hundred-fold by learning all about the indigenous population of The Land of the Long White Cloud - Aotearoa (that's the Maori, fact-fans), or just by going on a virtual tour of New Zealand or something. You know it makes sense. And it'll save the air fare. So - hey! - everyone wins! Bargain.
Or you can try the Native American Indian Resources main page, where you can find over 300 pages of maps, stories, astronomy, herbal knowledge and everything else related to the cultures. And - hey! - that's a lot of stuff.
Still not satiated in your thirst for knowledge? Then why not check out my other pages below? Not forgetting, of course, to sign the guestbook before you leave :^)
