| Spaceship Earth, a huge geodesic sphere, is
the centerpiece of Epcot's Future World and serves as the primary symbol of the entire
park. Designed in part by science-fiction writer Ray Bradbury, Spaceship Earth takes
guests on a journey, yes, the slow moving ride winds up and down inside the sphere itself
through the history of communication, from Neanderthal cave paintings, to the telegraph,
to radio, to television and beyond. This ride is a must-see and deftly captures the spirit
of Epcot. EXHIBIT: Spaceship
Earth presents Global Neighborhood, an AT&T production which includes the hands-on
exhibit of communication technology and equipment at the exit of Spaceship Earth.
DINING: The Fountain View Espresso and Bakery serves espresso,
cappuccino, pastries and desserts. Innoventions East features the more substantial dining
experience. The Electric Umbrella Restaurant features a counter-service restaurant that
serves chicken sandwiches, burgers and salads, open for lunch or dinner.
