Touring Turkey continued

It is not possible to include in this website details of all the historical sites and places of interest in Turkey. There are many travel books available about Turkey and some serious research is necessary before making a decision about the places you want to visit.

For help deciding and for detailed information about accommodation, transport, local excursions and Gulet cruises just send us an outline of your requirements including the number of persons and the approximate dates.

Safety Issues

All first time visitors to Turkey come with a certain amount of trepidation. We hear many reports of friends and relatives asking 'why Turkey, is it safe?

Despite it's fair share of terrorism, it's eastern borders touching Northern Iraq and the troubles in the Middle East over the last ten years, Turkey is still one of the safest holiday destinations in the world.

According to the world statistics website Nation-Master you are 20 times more likely to be involved in a crime against the individual in either the US or UK than in Turkey.

It's perhaps why people generally come back, apart from being a great holiday destination, they feel safer here.

Having the seat of Government in a city like Istanbul that was vulnerable to attack was the main reason Ankara was made the capital city of modern Turkey.
