In 1999 I joined TradePage Internet, a South African based company specialising in the design, hosting and promotion of commercial websites as webdesigner. My responsibilities included the design and implementaton of websites (from simple one page to more complated ASP drivemn shopping carts), researching new technologies with commercial applications and liason with clients.
My experience includes HTML coding, Active Server Pages, ASP driven databases using Access, SQL, Graphic Design, animation for the web, screensaver design (generally for download as part of a complete web service) and Shockwave using Director and Flash. Having worked on sites in association with a number of advertising agencies I am experienced in designs requiring unusually complex frames and tables to produce internet worthy sites to clients' specifications.
I am thoroughly familiar with the requirements of websites for business purposes, from designing the initial content for advertising or corporate promotion through to search engine listings and online advertising. I also work hard to create pages that are visually appealing while still maintaining quick download time.

| THE BLUEBOX ADVERTISING AGENCY |
In 1998 I joined the Blue Box as a junior designer. At this stage the Agency was just under a year old and still quite small so there was a vast range of work in this position. The two major aspects of the job were Desktop Publishing and Web Design.
Desktop Publishing: This included designing corporate brochures, leaflets, newspaper and magazine advertisments and other designs for the print media. The photographs and details images were mainly prepared and manipulated in Adobe Photoshop 5.0 and the whole project was put together in Macromedia Freehand 7.
Web Design: This part of the job involved designing webpages specific for each clients needs. Photoshop was used to prepare the graphics and Firstly Corel Webmaster then when the programs were available Microsoft Frontpage '98
Other roles included preparing multimedia presentation using Macromedia Director and Flash.
When I left the Company it had almost doubled in size and is reknowned as being of of the most innovative design houses in South Africa.

I learn fast and enjoy coming to grips with the new programs and technologies that are continuously being developed in this most dynamic of mediums. Back in the UK after several years abroad it is my goal to join a company where I can put my webdesign skills to use while increasing my knowledge of this fast developing field.
