Womad 2000

"Nevermind the quality clog the bandwidth"

What it is all about

A place to try the new, maybe for a day or two.

"Are you prepared to die for your beliefs or just to dye your hair?"

Someone singing
He was too, loses a bit over the net without sound.
Errr... People inna tent. Describing the music is akin to describing Orange to an Eskimo.
Flags, yes, the place is big on these
This woman has spent a while in Nepal. Now she runs an import group. A blind person in the hills taught her flute. She wangled him a job playing in ther eveings in the courtyard of the Kathmadu Guesthouse. That place is a bit upmarket for me but call in if you are in the Thamel district.
Janis J lives
Drums, lots of them. a vertiable plethora.
Eye candy, with which the place is awash.
By the river.
The sort of thing that ambles by, separating Womad from the rest of the world.
Ego massaged while you wait.
Singers again. They do form the background of the experience.
A Lert, they keep ther place running smoothly. Although it would be a lot more in keeping if they used Semaphore. :)
Waterways & bikes.
She dances, without spilling Beer. all that & smiles.
Have animation of this juggler. will place in time permitting
Flags, & body piercing for those who feel that self mutilation is cool. Muhahahahaha
Finishing a piece
:)
Crowd by the stage
These people told me where to go in Mexico. Thanks a load guys. Have a look at what happened by clicking here

Jugglers
The smiley folks next door.
Furniture builders
It is fun to play with your food.
Like eyes on some folk.

Sophie says "I like making them because they do not grow old and die"

Suddenly they were beautiful.

If you like this sort of thing
Happy crowd pleasers
One on the left is purveyor of clothes.
Doodah
In front of the main stage, past the flags.
The freelance sellers of these things were 60% of the price.
Have animated sequence of this one, manyana.
Hands on music is a constant theme.
Very impressive
He seemed remarkably clear while selling it
Hippies admiring some herb. Hah
Street bop
These folks flog tiny steamships that are really cool. I am to dumb to have linked the idea to an application as yet.
Inside a Ger {Yurt}
Trying to make soap bubbles.
To hell with Gnomes. Imps R Us.

Down by the river
Must of been that grin that did it.
Some Thai songster doing Bob Marley. Unlike PPK from Russia.
Will let you win @ Monopoly
Inside that Ger again.
This monk undulates while some spaced Hippy plays synths. It works well.
Have animation for later.

Tent roof glows
another side show attraction.
Guess
More street ents.
Those Thai folk again.
Drum workshop for kids. Brilliant
Fluffybint doing the whorl. She is in Portugal now. Have good animation of this one.
Ganesh arrived in a wheelbarrow
That tent again.
This game is facinating.
The olde campaigner himself.
Thanks to the fire services for being there. The tents are way too close every year. If it happened at a Scout Camp I would have everything re-pitched.
From Georgia
Next to the Arch.
More playing with food. They do this for religious reasons in India & Nepal. Is it not missing the point?
Electric Fudge sellers, or whatever.
Big cheer to al the First Aid folks
Another big cheer to these lot, even though the organization is top heavy IMHO.
That Arch I talked of earlier
The weather was kind.
Dog with Garland
Chilling blokes with lager by the river
Helpful Nepalese wares costermonger.

Cool pair who email me now & again.
No words
Me, floating upsidedown as the steam rises after electric fudge, allegedly.
They wear sensible shoes though. Won't take over the world.
Sitars
Juggler
Popular meeting place
Someone up a pole with portable phone.
Sorted
Train them now.
Mr Bloke in heated one with the Nut vendor
This chap & his crew were funny to the point of scary.
These two signed up to look for rubbish. Maybe they found something more.
Skanky Morning, so I went inside & did a load of Tai Chi, which was excellent.
"I say Caruthers, it's a Goth!" "Be a good chap & pass the Elephant gun"
Gold flags
Those Georgian singers again.
River & tranquility.
Main stage.
Another, but deserved.
Token hippy.
Only here

Have animation of this one
Grim grin
Contented couple
A Brass skeleton
Good sound, not a clue who. You pay unk for a ticket but they expect more for a guide. Nary a nothing on the web either.
A board not bored game
Start of a giant bubble [possibly]
Main stage
Welcoming the Sun
Jugglist
